Monday morning we arrived at Texas Children's Hospital to have Juliet's tonsils removed at 9:00 am. We got checked in got situated to wait for our 11:15 time. At 10:30 they started the surgery, yea for early. At 10:50 we got a huge shock. Dr. Duncan came in to tell us that they had to abort the surgery due to Juliet having a seizure on the operating table. It was a very mild seizure that lasted between 10-15 seconds. It apparently happened shortly after they started the anesthesia. It is unknown what caused the seizure since she has been put under before. He wanted to admit her to the hospital overnight for observation. Well I guess if you are going to have to be in a hospital, why not be in one of the best right? We finally got into a room around 4:30 pm and daddy came home to relieve Meme of Nate. Thank you Meme and Poppa for keeping Nate so we could focus on Juliet. Dr. Ori arrived around 6:30 and helped get her CT Scan expedited. At 9:30 we went down and had that done, we were done in about 5 minutes. My brave little girl did awesome! She finally went to sleep around 11 and of course they came in at midnight to do blood pressure and temp. I am unsure how anyone recovers in a hospital as many times as they disturb you. Dr. Duncan came in early this morning and told us blood work and CT Scan were good and we could go home. We were home by 9 am. What a whirlwind 24 hours. She was very tired today but otherwise seems like her normal self.
I had some rough moments yesterday. I spent alot of time in prayer, asking God what was going on and why did this happen. I felt like the answer came to me last night in the form of, "I let this happen during this elective surgery so you know there is a problem and not during a life or death situation." It has helped me know he did not leave us, he was there the entire time watching over her.

Nate quickie
Nate will stand on his own as long as his hands are occupied and he is not thinking about what he is doing. As soon as he wants something and reaches for it he falls. If he could just get out of that having to grab for everything he would figure out the walking part. (sniff) We put together his walker and he will walk behind it and behind Juliet's shopping cart. He sits and turns completely around to find the person he wants to look at. He has become a very demanding little boy, he has convinced his teachers not to tell him no and now wants to fall asleep in my arms instead of his bed. Likes to eat and loves to give hugs and sloppy kisses. Oh yes and is a Cheerio's thief at school, I came in one day and he was standing by another kids tray eating the cereal off the tray with the kid.

The moon tonight
Have you seen the moon tonight? It's really close to Earth and really bright. If Juliet had been asleep 10 minutes. I would be shocked, so I woke her up and took her outside to see the moon. She loves the moon and ever since she learned in Puggles that God made the moon she always wants to go out and see it, and when you ask who made the moon she will tell you God did. Tonight she asked me if we could take an airplane and go see the moon. Daddy answered, not yet. One day in her lifetime you will be able to go to the International Space Station, so it's not unreal that the moon would be next.

Getting an F on updates
Wow, first a little rant, I do not like the new blogger tool, it is terrible and has a ton of wasted space. OK I am done.
Another rant, please people stop breaking into my house and stealing my stuff. I am so tired of it. OK I am done again.
Today is Monday, feels like everyday is Monday lately. Last Monday we took the kids to the dr. Juliet is 38 1/4 inches and 34 lbs. Nate is 22.6 lbs, we will get height next month. Juliet has a throat and an ear infection. I am hoping her tonsil surgery on May 21 helps rid her of some of these problems. Nate had a sinus infection. He ended up not responding to the medicine he was on so we went back on Saturday. He now had an ear infection, which will make his first one. Dr changed his med and he had an allergic reaction to the new so we had to start another medicine. FUN, not!
Friday night was Juliet's 2nd dance recital. She did wonderful, danced like a champ and had an awesome time doing it!
Posting this now. Will give more later!

Past time for an update
Wow! There is never a dull moment anymore. Or a free one it seems!!
This past weekend was Easter weekend.
Thursday, after spending the morning at the doctors office with Nate, we had Juliet's Easter party at school then went to Maundy Thursday service. Nate is determined to walk, he already pulls himself up and tries to walk around holding the furniture. At the doctor I held his hands and he walked to Dr. Ori.
Friday school was closed so we spent the day at home playing.
Saturday, we took the kids, along with the Daigle's, to the zoo. Of course it was fun, it always is, we had to see and feed the giraffes, the elephants, the monkeys and ride the carousel. A typical Clements outing to the Houston Zoo. Juliet was so worn out that she fell asleep while riding on my back. We have never rode the Hermann Park train and that was a fun experience for us all. We came home and took a nap then Mama and Papa came over to visit and dye eggs. What is an egg dying without a little GREEN all over the table, the floor, the baby, and everyone around him. Nate got a grip on the green dye and spilled it everywhere. His little feet were green, it was comical.
Sunday we attended service at NEHBC. We were planning on JC going to Sunday School and we were going to service. WRONG, she had other plans, she wanted to go to big church with mommy and daddy. So armed with a pen and a coloring pad we were off. She did awesome, loved when they played the music and even sang along even though she didn't know the words. We had lunch after with Aunt Jessie and Uncle Derek, which was very fun! She still loves hunting eggs and would do it everyday if we let her, she even found a "Princess Luna, (a purple unicorn basket), at Wal-mart yesterday and now all her eggs are in it.
Monday night we took the backstage tour of Chick-Fil-A. Juliet got to see where her nuggets are made. A big thing for her since she LOVES that place.
Nate is determined to walk, he already pulls himself up and tries to walk around holding the furniture. Thursday at the doctor I held his hands and he walked to Dr. Ori. He still doesn't have any interest in talking words, just screeches and laughs! I did walk in yesterday morning and found him standing in his bed. Good thing the mattress is at rock bottom. He is into everything, loves power cords and anything that sissy is playing with. Last week before Wednesday service Nate had his first french fries, he seemed to enjoy making mush out of them.
Juliet will fake sleep if she doesn't want to go somewhere. Going to her bed, getting out of the car, etc. she will make a sound she thinks is sleeping. They are working on letter sounds in school so we ask her what starts with a letter and she can do most of them. She can also recognize not only her name in print but most of the kids in her class. We were really impressed she knew that. Apparently her new teacher also has super powers because she is getting her to eat at lunch. She had mac and cheese the other day, something she claimed she didn't like.
So much more, but it is so late and I am going to bed. If you don't know, I had to lock down flickr so you have to create a free account to see the kids pics. Contact me if you need assistance!!
Love,
Laura

Sometimes I wonder what I did right
Sometimes, like before bedtime tonight, I wonder what I did so right that God blessed me with these two precious babies. Yes, there are times they try my patience but I can overlook those for the simple pleasure of watching them play together. Tonight we were trying, unsuccessfully, to wind Juliet down after church. We had both kids in our bed and Juliet was next to Jon and Nate was laying over a pillow rocking back and forth trying to get over the pillow to get her. Juliet would do something that would make him rock harder and laugh at her, which would make her laugh. This went on for a while before we called bed time. It was super sweet!

Sometimes you have to do things you don't want to
I am in the process of locking down my Flickr account. All pictures that involve children will be locked down to family and friends only. The only pictures you will now see are ones that I take of scenery or of adults. You can still see pictures of the kids, you just have to have a Flickr acct (free) and have me assign you as a family member or friend. Let me know if you need help doing this. I am sorry for the inconvenience this causes, but it has to be done.
