Today we decided we were going to go whale watching. We ended up going out of a place in Lahaina and we went in two groups. Lynn and Denny went first while Jon and I kept Juliet and then we went. We actually got to see alot of whales. There was a moma and a baby that we saw alot and the baby kept thowing his tail in the air and smacking the water. Made me think of Juliet when she smacks the water with her hands. He was very playful and put on a good 10 minute show until I guess his mom told him to stop because he quit playing. They put the microphone in the water where we could hear the male singing and the baby sounded very much like a human baby crying. Toward the end of our trip we did get to see a big whale breach, which is where they throw their entire body out of the water. Of course I was so amazed that I did not get it on film. The weather was beautiful and the water was calm, although while we were out there, the island of Lanai completely disappeared in a cloud.
Spending those hours in the sun were draining, we were all tired. We rested for a bit then went for a walk on the beach. Guess who didn't want to have anything to do with the sand or the water. She did however like the pool chairs and the fire they have all over the resort. She babbled and yelled at one of those little birds you see that run out to the water then run away when the waves come in. She says Yeah, No and Bye now and we are working on Bird.
We ate at the little bar by the pool tonight, yes, "I took a baby to a bar".
So I thought we were going to make it the whole day without Juliet hurting herself, well I was wrong. Apparently she smashed her finger in something. Shaking head. Road to Hana tomorrow or Monday.
Aloha - Laura
