One with a peanut update

I have the sweetest and most precious baby girl. She had been restless Saturday night so when I went in at 3 to give her a treatment she woke up and held the mask by herself. When we were done she sits up to find her pillow, ribbitt and baby bear (who has on socks because dada was being silly.) She looked a his feet said socks, to make sure his socks were still on and says nite nite mommy dada, I said nite nite Juliet love you, she said love you back!  All at 3:30 am!

She has gotten better at saying Juliet now. It sounds less like Jujet. I wish you could see some of the silly faces she makes when she is playing. She has also started singing row, row, row your boat and although she doesn’t get every word, you can definitely tell what she is singing and follow along with her.

Thursday on the way to school she we were at a light and she would wave and say bye bye car over and over. She would also say bye bye fast car when someone would pass us. She was so busy waving at mommies leaving the school that she tripped and fell in the flower bed and got her hand dirty. We had to wash her hands immediately, which is ok because she loves to wash her hands.

You have to admire her persistence on getting something she wants.
Mommy: Juliet bath time.
Juliet: no bath, bubble bath.
Mommy: no bubble bath you had one last night.
Juliet: bubble bath.
Mommy and Dada: no bubble bath.
Repeat over and over.

Peanut update

I am 12 weeks and the heart rate at the ultrasound was 164, which is good.  I go back in 6 weeks where we hopefully will know what the baby will be, yes I know human, but boy or girl is the question.  Although this child seems to be as stubborn as it's sister and already has it's legs crossed.  This child hasn’t been as nice to me as Juliet was.  I have been having terrible morning sickness that starts around 6:30 pm. I have never been normal, hope this passes soon.

That is all for now!
Love, Laura

Smarty Pants or Sponge?

Well, it has happened again, Juliet is being treated for a mild case of pneumonia the doctor wanted to treat is as pneumonia before it got worse and then we really had a problem. So we have an antibiotic, a steroid, and the lovely nebulizer schedule. If that wasn't enough, poor baby has pink eye. She and daddy are home together yesterday and today and mommy will stay home tomorrow with her. Poor sweet girl can't catch a break.
I read somewhere last night that a 2 year old eats barely enough to keep a bird alive, I guess this is good because she now eats cheese, crackers, yogurt and nummies (gummy bears). I hope that her vitamins are doing their jobs.
Our little smarty pants knows colors red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. Her way to tell you the color is no then says the color. She still counts to 10 and loves 8,9,10. She knows quite a few shapes too and when we watch MMCH she tells us the shape. It always amazes me how much she absorbs and repeats! Haha, you can probably guess!
She went teetee and poopoo in the potty last weekend for daddy. She told him when she needed to go and they made it in time. She had never heard her potty sing so it surprised her. She had also never gone poop in the potty so it was a new experience. I think she thought it was wrong but daddy reassured her it was a good thing. Of course there has been nothing since then.
Instead of just making animal sounds now she will say the name of the animal and make their sound now. The newest is monk-ney.
Last thing and I will let you go, last night she fought us going to bed. I tried to put her socks on and she screamed so I took them off not five minutes after I closed the door she was screaming. When I went in to check she was holding her socks and crying for me to put them on. Silly little girl, Mommy is right most of the time.

Hope you enjoyed the update, keep us in your prayers during this sickness.

Love,
Laura

Finally getting more teeth in!

Looks like she might actually get some of her teeth in!  She is so far behind on getting them in!  I was wondering why she was waking up crying in the middle of the night again!

Meet the newest members of the sleep squad

Mimmie, Mouse, and Tuto!  And yes she calls for them!
I thought you needed a laugh!!

Happy 2011

We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  It’s hard to believe the holidays have come and gone again!  I think I could have used another week off to recover.

Congratulations to John and Jessica Daigle on the birth of their son, John Thomas.  He was born December 31, 2010.  A little early, but he seems to be a champ!

On Juliet’s birthday we took her to the Children’s Museum. That place is huge and a ton of fun.  They have something for kids as young as about a year.  Everywhere you turn there was something else interesting to do or look at or to learn about.  Juliet’s favorite was a vintage Mustang that the steering wheel turned round and round.  She cried when she had to get out.  We found out that she will wave when you sing Happy Birthday to Juliet, but only to Juliet, you can’t sing it to anyone else or she just looks at you.  Once she figures out it is to her she gets this big smile on her face and starts waving to you.  A little too late for her birthday candles this year, but she learned to blow out a candle at the Christmas Eve service.

When we were playing before bed the other night she found a toy with shapes on it.  Without prompting from anyone she started pointing to the shapes and naming them, star, circle, square, triangle and heart.  She knows them all without any help.  It is so hard to keep track of all the new things she does.  She surprises us often with what she knows or does.

On Saturday we celebrated Drew’s 2nd birthday.  He is such a cutie and got tons of fun gifts.  There was a bouncy house that was a huge success with the kiddos!

Daddy took Juliet to school Monday and it was a tough drop-off.  She has been with us a week and a half and was not excited about having to go to school.  When they turned at the light to the school she started crying “no school”.  I called to check on her and they told me she was a little whiny but doing ok.  I guess about the time she gets readjusted the weekend will be upon us.

To get ready for her doctors appointment, I opened her pretend doctor toy bag.  She had a ball checking her baby’s ears and mouth and listening to her heart and taking her blood pressure.  Then she moved on to mommy and daddy.  She is a little rough so we had to be prepared when she shoved things in our ears to look.

Poor baby had to have 2 shots at her dr appointment yesterday.  She saw the nurse get the needle ready down the hall and had a fit.  I blame daddy as he pulled her arm out of her shirt way too early!  (We love our dada and like to tease him.) She is 34 inches tall (50%), 28 pounds (~70%) and her head is 49 cm around (92%)!  Of course when we turned to go to school she tells us “no school”.  I am hoping that ends soon.

I love the way she will close herself out of the room we are in then stand on the other side and say, "knock knock mommy daddy," but will not knock.

Today was a good drop off day so I say she is getting back in the swing of things.

Love to all!
Laura
