The day will come

I know that soon the day will come when my baby girl will not want to snuggle with me and be rocked as she wakes up.  Or she will not want to come in and crawl in bed with us just because she wants to.  So this morning I took advantage of her wanting a little mommy snuggle and held her (and ribbit) as we just rocked and snuggled.  Nothing could have made me give up that time.  She has always been such the snuggle bunny so when the time comes she doesn't want to anymore..., nevermind, I'm not thinking about it.

A little bit of this and that

A list then, sorry don't have alot of time.

- Glow sticks are fabulous.  I put them in the tub with the kids and turn off the lights and they have a blast!

- We had costume pictures done, with Jeni of course, and they turned out great as usual!

- Juliet has decided that now she loves princesses.  We watched Cinderella and she wanted to wear a Cinderella dress to do it.  Now she wants all the princess dresses when we watch the movies, better ask Santa, and she wants a princess party for her birthday.

- In dance they are learning their dances for the winter show.  The costumes they are going to wear are precious.
- Juliet is loving Awana's.  She is doing so good at memorizing her verses and remembering all the verses from the previous weeks.

- Nate is teething, he is so cranky, but I have found that chocolate milk seems to make him a little happier.

- He loves this little dog that he found from Great Aunt Hazel, likes to carry it around and chew on the nose.

- We have celebrated Cousin Brody at a few showers, Juliet was such a big girl and acted so good at all the showers.
- Mama got Nate a John Deere hat and he loves wearing it around.  She also got the kids Christmas ornaments that make noise, of course, and they love them.

- James and Ian moved the piano from Nanny's house this past weekend.  The kids love playing it, gotta find a tuner and work on learning to play.

- We have a tigger and a minnie that sing or dance and light up.  Nate loves them.  He will actually throw them at me for me to turn them on.
- Nate has started saying Hi and he will wave bye-bye if you tell him to say bye-bye.
- Nate is a rough little boy.  He hits, pulls hair, etc.  Watch out sissy.

- Juliet is loving her big girl bike, she rides it very fast and is getting really good at it.  Nate pulled it down and scraped her knee the other day.  He got in trouble for that.

Next week is Halloween, can't wait to see the kids in costumes.

Hope you enjoyed the update and the pictures!

Diaper Trike

Diaper Tricycle Tutorial - Found on Southern Fried Gal
To begin, I use 15 (size one or two) diapers for each back wheel and 25 diapers for the front wheel. Roll one diaper up into a fairly tight roll. Then start layering the other diapers around the spacing the ends out to make the tread for the wheels. Secure with rubber bands to hold in place.

I have done this enough to have the top of the last diaper meet the bottom of a previous one. As a type A gal, I like that the orderliness of this. Use as many rubber bands as you need to keep the circle going. I think I use about three. In the end you will cover them up with pretty ribbon.

There may be a better way to secure the ribbon around each wheel but I prefer to do so with a safety pin. I personally can never find one when I need one around here so I like the usability of the pins in the final product. The wheels will be strategically placed to hide all our secrets. Rinse and repeat with the 25 diapers to create the front wheel. Once the wheels are assembled, poke your fingers through to create an opening.

I think the most fun part of this project is mixing and matching the accessories to create the trike. You will need two cotton receiving blankets (the stiffer the better), two bibs, one bottle, and a pair of coordinating socks. Individually roll up the blankets as tightly as you can. These will become what holds the trike together. Then insert one blanket through the front wheel.

Place the back wheels on either side of the front wheel. I like for the treads of my back wheel to face backwards and the front to run forward. Thread the blanket from the front wheel into the outside back wheels. Pull together tightly and secure (again I use a safety pin). Then I slide the blanket around so the pinned part is hidden inside one of the back wheels.
Next thread the other rolled blanket evenly through the front wheel. Place a bib over the front wheel to create the fender. I like to tuck my bib around to the back for added interest. Place the other bib over the back of the trike to create the seat.

If the bib is large enough I like to fasten the seat bib through the front wheel . If not I just tuck so that it is secure and orderly. Place a bottle on top of the front bib, pull up the second blanket to create bunny ears and secure with a rubber band. Work with the blanket to get the handles just right. It may take a bit for gravity to help the handle bars lay down the way you want them.

Finally add the finishing touches! Conceal the rubber band at the handle bars with a ribbon tied into a pretty bow. Use the socks on each end of the handle bars to create grippers (aren't they adorable?).
Then fluff and adjust until you get it just the way you want it.

For a beautiful presentation, wrap with tulle and tie with a coordinating ribbon. You'll have everyone oohing and ahhing over your skills at the shower!

I hope this helps you create gifts for your friends and family. If you decide to craft one (or twelve) please shoot me a picture of how it turns out! If you are crafty challenged or just don't have the time for a project like this you can order one from me and I'll ship to you or the gift recipient!

Little Gym

I took the kids to a birthday party at little gym in Kingwood for a set of twins in Juliet's class. It's one of those balance beam, tumbling, climbing, run around like crazy places. I had taken her there before but not lately. Nate went with us and had a blast being a big kid. These parents are so great letting him come to the parties and participate. He thought he could do it all and all by himself. If I redirected him he cried so if he wasn't in danger of being hurt I just let him be. Little mother hen (Juliet) helped me watch him some too.The biggest success was the parachute, even I like that one!  These are iPhone pictures, sorry, they aren't the best!
 Nate inside the parachute!
Juliet on the balance beam and Nate turning flips

Wednesday night

It's another Wednesday night. We just got home from Cubbies and Juliet is playing in the tub, completely wound up, and Nate is already in bed. It's been a long couple of days with Nate having hand, foot and mouth and being all around cranky. I have been home with him the last two day so we have had some time together to love on each other. He really is a mommies baby boy.
I have to say I am so proud of Juliet, she had 4 things to memorize his week and she nailed them all. That's a lot for a little person to remember. She does dance 2 times a week now, once on Tuesday nights and again on Thursday at school. She seems to really enjoy dance. She started PreK last week and has to wear uniforms mon-thurs. This week it has been a struggle as I think the newness has worn off already. I asked her what she wants to be for halloween, she told me a princess, I asked which one and showed her the Disney store website. She chose tinkerbell because she has wings. We are on a wing kick since she found a set from Ren Fest. Oh yeah and she now wants her ears pierced, she is actually wearing star stickers on her ears tonight.
Nathaniel is a full blown boy, he is into everything, climbs or stands on anything, and seems to always have a bump or bruise. Just today he pulled something out of the fridge and something else knocked him in the face causing a bloody nose. He also thinks he needs to play in the trash. I told him no, get out, well he just kept standing there so I walked over to make him move and realized his fingers were stuck. Again, all I can say is boy. He started in the toddler class last week and screamed every morning I dropped him off, poor baby is out all this week do we start all over next week after being home with us for what will be 9 days. I shudder to think about it. Sigh.
Both kids are little fish as as long as they have their floaties on. We have taken to the bay house twice and Lynne and Scott's twice. They love the water.
These two are total opposites. The fairy princess ballerina and the rough and tumble little boy. My two precious gifts from God, are both finally in bed. Wow they make me tired!

Kids on the run

Literally, these kids never stop!!

At their last appointment Nate was 30.5 inches and 23.14 pounds, and Juliet was 39 inches and 35 pounds.  Growing up so quick!

Juliet starts Pre-K on the 27th and Nate will move to the Toddler class on that day.

Nate will throw his arms around you for a hug, he loves climbing in and out of the cozy coups and loves the little wagon on the pink car.  He is getting 5 teeth in at once so he is super cranky all the time.  His new favorite toys are the toilets and the trash cans, so watch yours! O-Yeah and he likes to open drawers and pull everything out of them.

Juliet loves brother but doesn't want him touching her toys.  She loves playing dresssup and is becoming a serious girly girl with the heavy on the princess dresses.  She now sleeps so much better since her tonsils have been taken out.  She does not move around much at all.

These kiddos are so sweet, I love them!!  Sorry so short, gotta run after them!

Tonsil-less

Juliet is now tonsil-less!!  Thank you God for a successful tonsil surgery.  We had awesome doctors who came up with an anesthesia plan that worked beautifully!   We are now on the road to recovery.  She has been such a trooper today!!  The doctor told us she now had a throat, not just tonsils, if that tells you how bad they were.  Thank you Dr. Duncan and Dr. Shaw for working so closely with us to make today a success!!  Thank you all for your prayers!!

Happy Birthday Nathaniel

Happy birthday to my buddy bear. Today you are 1 year old!

You are such a sweet little guy, even if you are really cranky sometimes!
One year ago today you surprised us by arriving a little early but captured our hearts all the same. You were so eager to join us and haven't slowed down any!
You are walking, you know you have a voice and like to yell. You haven't started talking yet, but you babble a lot. You love the fridge and make a beeline for it whenever it is open. You are fast getting to what you don't need to have. Sissy's toys are the best and you want them most. Anything and everything on a counter must be pulled off and thrown You are a snuggle bunny who all the sudden thinks you need to go to sleep on mommy. By the way buddy bear, the toilet is not a play area, that's just gross. Your face lights up when you see sissy or daddy. You loved your cupcake for your birthday. You are our little man and we love you bunches! Happy Birthday Nathaniel jack!

First Steps

Nathaniel took his first steps today to daddy. Being fathers day that made it extra special. As I type he took 3 steps to daddy and Juliet. He is really getting it. Good job buddy bear!

In our lives right now

Instead of a paragraph blog, it's going to be more of a list of what the kids are doing!

Nate, on top of having pink eye today,
Can climb on the blow up mattress
He climbs all over you if you are laying down
Will eat anything that doesn't eat him first
He still wants to go head first off anything to get something on the ground.
He has found a duck gramma and granddad brought from Canada. He loves it. He also found a little pooh bear in Juliet's room that he will hug on. It is really precious.
He reaches for who he wants and if you don't take him he will try to jump to you.
He loves his sissy. Wherever she is he has to be.
Into everything he can get his hands on.
Tries to walk but gets scared but will walk along the furniture and behind the walker and the shopping cart.
Everything goes in the mouth.
Loves the loudest toys he can find.
Has tooth #5 in
Learned how to make the walker go fast!
Juliet
has endured a seizure, a night in the hospital, a cat scan, a MRI, and an EEG. I hope this clears everything up so we can get her tonsils out on August 1st.
She is officially a My Little Pony Friendship is Magic fan.
She has found out that she loves to play Angry Birds. She even has a shirt!
We bought a new rod for her closet so she can get her clothes down by herself that she wants to wear for the day. (Still in the package)
Will start a new dance class, in addition to her one at school
Tells everyone on Wednesdays that she is going to cubbies, even though it doesn't start till August.
Dresses herself
Knows her basic colors in Spanish
Knows my phone number and Mamas
Has a wonderful imagination
Loves to paint, write her name, draw smiley faces, read, take pictures, dance, twirl, and tell Nate no!

They both:
love riding in the cart at the store
love daddy big time and get jealous if the other one is around him.
give big hugs and the biggest smiles.
Are professionals at looking away when you want to take a picture
Are the biggest joys in our lives!

So many things going on with them. I am so sorry for not posting sooner, time flies!

Went in to have tonsils removed, still have them...

Monday morning we arrived at Texas Children's Hospital to have Juliet's tonsils removed at 9:00 am.  We got checked in got situated to wait for our 11:15 time.  At 10:30 they started the surgery, yea for early.  At 10:50 we got a huge shock.  Dr. Duncan came in to tell us that they had to abort the surgery due to Juliet having a seizure on the operating table.  It was a very mild seizure that lasted between 10-15 seconds.  It apparently happened shortly after they started the anesthesia.  It is unknown what caused the seizure since she has been put under before.  He wanted to admit her to the hospital overnight for observation.  Well I guess if you are going to have to be in a hospital, why not be in one of the best right?  We finally got into a room around 4:30 pm and daddy came home to relieve Meme of Nate.  Thank you Meme and Poppa for keeping Nate so we could focus on Juliet.  Dr. Ori arrived around 6:30 and helped get her CT Scan expedited.  At 9:30 we went down and had that done, we were done in about 5 minutes.  My brave little girl did awesome!  She finally went to sleep around 11 and of course they came in at midnight to do blood pressure and temp. I am unsure how anyone recovers in a hospital as many times as they disturb you.  Dr. Duncan came in early this morning and told us blood work and CT Scan were good and we could go home.  We were home by 9 am.  What a whirlwind 24 hours.  She was very tired today but otherwise seems like her normal self.
I had some rough moments yesterday.  I spent alot of time in prayer, asking God what was going on and why did this happen.  I felt like the answer came to me last night in the form of, "I let this happen during this elective surgery so you know there is a problem and not during a life or death situation."  It has helped me know he did not leave us, he was there the entire time watching over her.

Nate quickie

Nate will stand on his own as long as his hands are occupied and he is not thinking about what he is doing.  As soon as he wants something and reaches for it he falls.  If he could just get out of that having to grab for everything he would figure out the walking part.  (sniff)  We put together his walker and he will walk behind it and behind Juliet's shopping cart.  He sits and turns completely around to find the person he wants to look at.  He has become a very demanding little boy, he has convinced his teachers not to tell him no and now wants to fall asleep in my arms instead of his bed.  Likes to eat and loves to give hugs and sloppy kisses.  Oh yes and is a Cheerio's thief at school, I came in one day and he was standing by another kids tray eating the cereal off the tray with the kid.

The moon tonight

Have you seen the moon tonight? It's really close to Earth and really bright. If Juliet had been asleep 10 minutes. I would be shocked, so I woke her up and took her outside to see the moon. She loves the moon and ever since she learned in Puggles that God made the moon she always wants to go out and see it, and when you ask who made the moon she will tell you God did. Tonight she asked me if we could take an airplane and go see the moon. Daddy answered, not yet. One day in her lifetime you will be able to go to the International Space Station, so it's not unreal that the moon would be next.

Getting an F on updates

Wow, first a little rant, I do not like the new blogger tool, it is terrible and has a ton of wasted space.  OK I am done.
Another rant, please people stop breaking into my house and stealing my stuff.  I am so tired of it.  OK I am done again.

Today is Monday, feels like everyday is Monday lately.  Last Monday we took the kids to the dr.  Juliet is 38 1/4 inches and 34 lbs.  Nate is 22.6 lbs, we will get height next month.  Juliet has a throat and an ear infection.  I am hoping her tonsil surgery on May 21 helps rid her of some of these problems.  Nate had a sinus infection.  He ended up not responding to the medicine he was on so we went back on Saturday.  He now had an ear infection, which will make his first one.  Dr changed his med and he had an allergic reaction to the new so we had to start another medicine.  FUN, not!
Friday night was Juliet's 2nd dance recital.  She did wonderful, danced like a champ and had an awesome time doing it!
Posting this now. Will give more later!

Past time for an update

Wow!  There is never a dull moment anymore.  Or a free one it seems!!

This past weekend was Easter weekend.
Thursday, after spending the morning at the doctors office with Nate, we had Juliet's Easter party at school then went to Maundy Thursday service.  Nate is determined to walk, he already pulls himself up and tries to walk around holding the furniture.  At the doctor I held his hands and he walked to Dr. Ori.
Friday school was closed so we spent the day at home playing.
Saturday, we took the kids, along with the Daigle's, to the zoo.  Of course it was fun, it always is, we had to see and feed the giraffes, the elephants, the monkeys and ride the carousel.  A typical Clements outing to the Houston Zoo. Juliet was so worn out that she fell asleep while riding on my back.  We have never rode the Hermann Park train and that was a fun experience for us all.  We came home and took a nap then Mama and Papa came over to visit and dye eggs.  What is an egg dying without a little GREEN all over the table, the floor, the baby, and everyone around him.  Nate got a grip on the green dye and spilled it everywhere.  His little feet were green, it was comical.
Sunday we attended service at NEHBC.  We were planning on JC going to Sunday School and we were going to service.  WRONG, she had other plans, she wanted to go to big church with mommy and daddy.  So armed with a pen and a coloring pad we were off.  She did awesome, loved when they played the music and even sang along even though she didn't know the words.  We had lunch after with Aunt Jessie and Uncle Derek, which was very fun!  She still loves hunting eggs and would do it everyday if we let her, she even found a "Princess Luna, (a purple unicorn basket), at Wal-mart yesterday and now all her eggs are in it.
Monday night we took the backstage tour of Chick-Fil-A.  Juliet got to see where her nuggets are made.  A big thing for her since she LOVES that place.

Nate is determined to walk, he already pulls himself up and tries to walk around holding the furniture.  Thursday at the doctor I held his hands and he walked to Dr. Ori. He still doesn't have any interest in talking words, just screeches and laughs!  I did walk in yesterday morning and found him standing in his bed.  Good thing the mattress is at rock bottom.  He is into everything, loves power cords and anything that sissy is playing with.  Last week before Wednesday service Nate had his first french fries, he seemed to enjoy making mush out of them.
Juliet will fake sleep if she doesn't want to go somewhere.  Going to her bed, getting out of the car, etc. she will make a sound she thinks is sleeping.  They are working on letter sounds in school so we ask her what starts with a letter and she can do most of them.  She can also recognize not only her name in print but most of the kids in her class.  We were really impressed she knew that.  Apparently her new teacher also has super powers because she is getting her to eat at lunch.  She had mac and cheese the other day, something she claimed she didn't like.

So much more, but it is so late and I am going to bed.  If you don't know, I had to lock down flickr so you have to create a free account to see the kids pics.  Contact me if you need assistance!!

Love,
Laura

Sometimes I wonder what I did right

Sometimes, like before bedtime tonight, I wonder what I did so right that God blessed me with these two precious babies.  Yes, there are times they try my patience but I can overlook those for the simple pleasure of watching them play together.  Tonight we were trying, unsuccessfully, to wind Juliet down after church.  We had both kids in our bed and Juliet was next to Jon and Nate was laying over a pillow rocking back and forth trying to get over the pillow to get her.  Juliet would do something that would make him rock harder and laugh at her, which would make her laugh.  This went on for a while before we called bed time.  It was super sweet!

Sometimes you have to do things you don't want to

I am in the process of locking down my Flickr account.  All pictures that involve children will be locked down to family and friends only.  The only pictures you will now see are ones that I take of scenery or of adults.  You can still see pictures of the kids, you just have to have a Flickr acct (free) and have me assign you as a family member or friend.  Let me know if you need help doing this.  I am sorry for the inconvenience this causes, but it has to be done.

He's Crawling

Where's the pause button on these kids?  They are growing up so quickly!  Yesterday Nate crawled for the first time!  He is no into everything, especially sissy's stuff!

I promise a longer post later!

Tuesday, March 20, 2012

Nate at 8 1/2 months

My buddy bear, mommy’s little man, you are 8 months old, you are trying so hard to crawl and get so mad that you cannot.  You can push up on all fours, rock back and forth, push up on hands and feet ( I call this your down dog yoga pose), and push yourself backwards.  I really think you would rather walk since you are already pulling up on things.  Today you successfully manuvered yourself to sissy.  You love your bath, like to put your hand under the water and cry when I get you out. Oops buddy bear, not the best idea to try to stand in the tub.  You like to play the piano and the maracas, always try to get the phones or iPad or whatever someone else has close to you.   You wave hello now and clap your hands when someone else claps theirs or you are excited.   Give hugs and big open mouth kisses, everything goes in your mouth.  You have 2 teeth and I think you are getting your top front teeth.  You still refuse to hold your bottle but will hold your Sippy, why is that?  You are growing so fast!  Slow down and let mommy catch up!

At his 8 month appointment he was 20.6 lbs 29 1/4 inches of perfect!

Long Night

Not really sure what is going on with Nate, but he is so cranky!  Yesterday he only wanted mommy and if he was able to sleep he only wanted to sleep in my arms.  By the time it was bedtime I was exhausted.  He went down with no problem at 8 and I was excited, apparently I got my hopes up too high.  At 11:30 he woke up ready to play, and was terribly cranky.  I did everything I knew to do to make him go back to sleep, nothing worked.  Finally daddy took him downstairs to play for a bit so I could get some sleep.  At 6:30 I put him in the bouncer and he fell asleep, of course that was time for everyone else to get up.  Poor guy, I am guessing it is teething, or an ear infection, I am hoping it's the first.

8 Months

Wow, it has been almost a month since I have blogged…

The last 8 months have flown. Tomorrow Nate will be 8 months old and I remember it like it was yesterday. I can't believe how much he has grown. He is on the verge of crawling and loves anything that will go into his mouth. He has moved into the older infant room at school, he is now with Mrs. Rosa, who was Juliet's first teacher at Primrose. She already loves him and he seems to be happy there. He loves blocks, well loves to let you build something so he can knock them down them put them in his mouth! He has two teeth and the sweetest smile and will grab and give what seems like hugs. He also thinks it’s hilarious to untie my shoes. Why is it that tickles kids so? We got good news at Texas Children’s about his head. They told us that it should round itself out by the time he is two, we were so excited by that news. I got a call from the school the other day, apparently Nate sleeps with his feet thru the bars on the crib. He got one of his legs stuck and his teachers freaked I think that upset him more than getting stuck.

Juliet moved to the Preschool 2 this past week, she is back to being the youngest in her class even though she seems to hold her own. It seems that everyone in this class brings a baby to sleep with at nap time. I thought we had gotten away from having to haul a stuffed animal to school every day, but apparently it is back, although it is a little green bear and not ribbit. She will get a book we have read to her and start to read to us, she does well at remembering what is supposed to be on each page. She still loves Puggles, knows 3 bible verses, and is learning that God made everything. She is such the princess, loves to wear tutus and glitter headbands.  It was so funny the other day she was drawing and put the marker in her left hand.  When I asked what she was doing, she told me "I was making sure the other hand worked."  Smartie Britches!

We took the kids to Dallas this weekend to visit Poppa Darrell, Madison and Sullivan and Great-Grandma and Granddad. We had a nice, if whirlwind visit. We took the kids to play putt-putt and it was the first time for Juliet, she made 2 holes in 1's. I don’t think she knew what all the excitement was about other than we all were excited. She and Madison bonded quickly, they played together a lot.  We got to have dinner with G&G and had (square) cupcakes for Granddad's 80th birthday.

Wow, sorry about the jumping around, but there's alot going on.  Check Flickr!

Trials of growing up!

Happy Valentine’s Day! I got flowers from Jon and the kids, it was so sweet and made my day! We had cupcakes and Chick-Fil-A as treats. For Juliet’s friends we made friendship bracelets, which took a long time but it was time together.

When Juliet breezed through her twos with no issues, I thought “great, we missed the terrible twos!” Wrong, it just waited till the threes. Don’t get me wrong, she is still a sweet and loving little girl, she is just pushing limits she hasn’t before. “No” is a new found love word, “I don’t want to ___” is a common phrase, bedtime and bath times are a nightmare. We had to have a talk about listening in class and had to look for our listening ears because apparently we misplaced them, but alas they were found and haven’t had that problem since. Just typical things you go through growing up, I can hear my mom laughing now.

Juliet loves Puggles, she now knows 3 bible verses and the words to every kid song they sing. I love listening to her sing bible school songs that I grew up with and we can sing together. I even told Ms. Maryanna in church on Sunday that she is making a difference with her during song time. It makes me feel good to let people know that the hard work they do is evident in my child’s life. Mama and I took her to a Valentine’s tea party at On A Whim in Liberty, she had a blast. Check out her painting on Flickr.  That child loves art, reading stories and being a princess, which was what they did. She also wants her own umbrella when it rains, I am so glad Maya’s mom gave them as party favors.

Nate is 7 months old. He is a little guy with a big attitude already. We are at that stage where everything goes in his mouth, I mean everything. He loves wipe bags because they make a lot of noise. He also mimics you. If you frown he cries, if you smile he will smile and laugh. He also likes to be close to Juliet, wants to grab her hands and hair. She hates it, wants to move away from him. I have to remind her that he will not hurt her, just loves her. He is trying so hard to be mobile, but goes backwards instead of forward. Hey, you gotta start somewhere. If you walk past him he holds up his hands for you to pick him up and follows you with his eyes if you walk past him.  His grin is infectious, it melts your heart. It helps to see it on nights like we have had lately where he is up every half hour.

Here's a funny for you, I put my 19.5 lb son in Baby Gap 3-6 month overalls today!  They are the biggest 3-6 month clothes I have ever seen!!

He is testing us

Nate is testing us, he has not had a bottle at all today.  I don't know what the deal is.  He would not drink for mom yesterday either.  It is really stressing me out because he needs the formula.  I have a call into the doctor, we will see what he says tomorrow...

Kiddos

I ordered myself this really nice, soft and warm blanket from Pottery Barn for a Christmas gift, well it has now been confiscated by my 3 year old.  Doesn't help that she has one almost just like it in pink, why does she have to take mine!!  Haha!  It's pretty funny when you step back and look at it, she is so happy wrapped in that blanket it is precious, and yes there is a picture.
We were practicing her letters in the tub tonight, she can write M,N,g,c,H,T,t,e,E,O,o,l,a,i, and a few more I have missed.  This is without having me write them and her trace them.  We are working on the J because she writes it backwards as a L and her u, well it needs help, but hey, this is pretty good for 3.
This weekends song was I'm in the Lord's army and This little light of mine, they must have sang it at Puggles, because that is all she wanted to sing this week.
We have been fighting Nate at night trying to get him to sleep on his tummy because of his flat head, well he just hates it.  Most kids love when they get to sleep on their bellies, not Nate, he wants to be on his back with his hands superman over his head.  It is the way he is comfortable and happy... well too bad little man!
He is a pro at sitting up and will try to get himself back up if he falls, he just hasn't figured it out yet.  He hasn't tried to crawl yet but pushes himself up on his hands and watches one of his friends in class very closely on how to try.  He can turn circles on the floor and in his bed, it makes him mad when he gets turned sideways in the bed. He is also a professional roller now and will go all the way across the room!
I have two happy children who are a mess!  This is short and sweet, but hey, it's something!!

I found this here: http://www.sweetaprils.com/2011/08/diaper-motorcycle-tutorial-diy-how-to.html  Loved it!

Motorcycle Diaper Cake Tutorial {DIY-How to Make a Diaper Motorcycle}

I finally decided to share a tutorial on how to make this beautiful diaper motorcycle (Diaper cake). I hope you enjoy it! This would be the greatest baby shower gift ever! I promise you that :) Email me if you have any questions!

**This tutorial is for personal use only. Make as many as you want for yourself or to give as a gift. Instructions and pictures are not to be copied or duplicated. Please do not sell diaper motorcycles made from this tutorial. You can place my link on your blog/website if you would like to share this tutorial. Thank you! {wink}**

Materials: 34 diapers Pampers Swaddlers Size 1 (17 for each tire), 8" cake pan, 2 rubber bands, 2 receiving blankets, 2 bibs, 1 chain link toy, a pair of socks or mittens, a baby bottle, 1 washcloth, scissors, pins, a stuffed animal, and decorative ribbon.

Make sure the gab between each diaper is even. See above picture #5? They are not even.

Pic #6: With one hand on top of the diaper, use the other hand to start pulling each diaper to the right until they all are even. Pic #7 is looking better...but pic #8 is perfect!

For pic #13: wrap each tire with ribbon of your choice. Place a pink to secure ribbon. The pin will at be the bottom of the tire. Do the same for the other tire. PLEASE NOTICE THAT THE FOLLOWING PICTURES DON'T HAVE THE RIBBON AROUND THE TIRES BECAUSE I FORGOT!!! I WAS TOO EXCITED! But make sure the ribbon is around the tires for the rest of the instructions. :)
Pic #14: Fold first receiving blanket in half...and roll it up like in pic #15
Pic #16: If you want you can secure the end of the rolled up blanket with a pin just until you place the blanket through the tire opening.

Picture #20: PLEASE note that we are working on the BACK tire.

For pic #24: Pull both ends of the blanket (following the arrows) to make sure the 2 tires are tight and the blanket too. Not too tight but firm. This will hold your entire motorcycle! Remember we are still working on the back tire.

For pic #25 place a pin in the inside of the tire opening securing the 2 blankets against the diapers. Make sure the pin is all the way in! then tuck in the remaining of the 2 ends of the blanket in the opining of the tire. You can see the finished back tire on Pic# 29.
Pic #26 shows the front tire first.

We are going to work on the handle now...Pic #28: roll up the second blanket...

Pic #29: Place the rolled up blanket through the opening of the FRONT tire.

Pic #35: If you would like you can roll up the wash cloth around the baby bottle.

To make the handle bars more stable follow instructions on pic #37 and #38

Pic #39: Put tissue paper inside the sock or mittens...it just looks better!

Pic #42: Place the other bib on top of the back tire.
