Things that are dead and things that smell dead for 500 Alex

Answer: Rex and Lois
Ding: What are things Juliet saw the day she turned 19 months?
Juliet turned 19 months old last Friday, and we celebrated by going to the Houston Museum of Natural Science to see the Corpse Flower, Lois and to see the dinosaurs.  She was not very interested in the bones of the dinos, but she did growl for me.  We did see some that caught her attention.  These actually have color and she liked them.

The line for the corpse flower was over an hour and a half behind and she was loosing it quickly.  We did quite alot of running around columns and back and forth between Mommy and Daddy.  We got her some ice cream and some french fries from the McDonald's in the museum.  She loved the french fries which was a surprise to me since she usually wants the ice cream.  So you stood in an hour and a half line and then you get in and it's like Disney World, another line.  There were games for her to play inside and we finally got to see the flower.  She was less than impressed and it was way past her bedtime at this time.  She was so tired, but did get to see butterflies which she liked.
Make sure you check out Flickr to see all the pics from the trip!
I went on the Scott Kelby 3rd Annual Photo Walk on Saturday, it was so wonderful to get out and about with my camera.  I so love photography!  (Flickr for those too!)
Juliet has become very attached to her frog and carries it around everywhere, even to school!  I got her a Minnie Mouse nightgown yesterday and she wore it from the time she got home until this morning.  It is too precious.
She is growing so fast and learning so much all the time.  She loves her animal and the sounds they make, Sheep, horse, cow, dino and lion, etc, loves them all.  (She knows how to use her iTot on my iPhone and loves it!)  She is such the little snuggle bug.  She loves to get and give hugs!  We have learned that she wants the opposite of who gets her up in the morning.  If I get her up, she wants Daddy, and he if gets her up she wants me.  She still loves to dance, is learning to put her clothes on, and surprise, drinks milk at school, but still refuses to at home!  One more before I go!!

Well, back to it!

Love to all! Laura

Growing and Learning

Juliet is growing and learning everyday.  She has such the little personality and attitude.  She has started saying yummm when she eats something that she likes or sees something that she wants to eat.  She also growls when she doesn't like something or you ask her what the lion says.
We set up her pool Friday in the back yard while I was home for lunch.  We let it sit in the sun so the water got warm.  I had no clue how she was going to react to the pool and I was shocked to see her run for it ready to play.  She had such fun playing in the water with Mommy and Daddy both Friday and Saturday.  It rained on Sunday so we had to pick it up.
I downloaded her an application on my iPhone called iTot flashcards.  It has animals, colors, numbers, etc.  It has a picture of the animal, says it's name and then makes a sound if there is one.  She already knows how to flip through the cards.  When the sheep comes up she says ba ba, and when the puppy comes on she starts saying  bark bark, in a really high pitched voice.  She has also started carrying the cell phone around saying hello hello, and then proceeds to carry on a gibberish conversation to whomever she has on the other end.
She has now conquered the step in the garage.  She will go up and down it without hesitation now.  She used to wait and turn to ask for your hand for help.  Not anymore!
We had to go visit the doctor on Saturday and of course she has another sinus infection.  You can see just by looking at her she doesn't feel good.  I so wish there was something we could do for her other than drug her.

Juliet turns 19 months in 4 days.  Where has the time gone?  Before you know it we will be having her 2nd birthday party! Yikes!

Flickr has a ton of new pics if you haven't visited lately!

Since I can't put it off any longer, I need to get to work.  I have a horrible case of the Monday's.

Get in the Game Sunday

Get in the Game Sunday at NEHBC is fast approaching on August 1.  This is where you commit to sign up for a place of service in the church for the next 12 months.   Jon and I have to make the decision if NEHBC is where we are supposed to make our church home and if yes, where we will serve in the church for the next 12 months.  These decisions will not be taken lightly as they do not just affect us, they affect Juliet also.  We ask you to pray with us that God points us in His direction.

Jump (well almost)

Juliet has started jumping.  Whether or not it is off something or bending down and throwing her arms up in the air and trying to jump while on the floor.  (For some reason the video will not play!  Will work on it!)  She almost has it and it is really cute to watch.  We had her portraits made on Saturday and they turned out so precious.
We went to bed last night with a slight fever, I think she has a sinus infection again, poor baby.  She didn't feel good this morning either.  We may have to go see Dr. Ori again.

Happy 4th of July Weekend

First of all we are going to back up and say Happy Birthday to Daddy on June 28.  We made him a cake, colored him a card, and he picked out his presents so he got exactly what he wanted.
We started the holiday weekend off with flash flooding in Houston.  Juliet was supposed to have a parade at school so I left work early, glad I did because it was flooding terrible and traffic was a nightmare.  Got to see her eat her cupcake and wear her cute hat so the traffic was worth it.  Craig came in among the floods to spend the weekend with us.
I took Juliet to Little Gym in Kingwood on Saturday and she had a blast running around an climbing over everything she could find.  We also learned how to do a forward roll safely, but might I suggest not starting that unless you are prepared to stand there and flip her a couple dozen times.  We are going to look into the fall semester since it is every Saturday at 9:45 and we would miss a few weeks if we signed up now.  She needed new shoes so we went to Stride Rite and got her a pair then met Mama at Mommy to Bee and got a couple of dresses for Saturdays pics.  Hopefully the weather will cooperate.  We ate at Chick-Fil-A and Juliet was on her way to the Big L for some play time and Mommy was off for retail therapy at the fabric store.  I finished her photo album for her 1st year finally and am going to start filling it with pictures as soon as I get some printed.
Sunday we went to church and picked up stinker for the 4th.  The Daigles came over and we had enchiladas and watched Star Wars because apparently since it was on, it was the thing to do.  Of course the neighbors started the fireworks about the time Juliet decided it was time to go to bed.  She did fine sleeping through them and they were over around 11.  Too bad the neighbors don't know how to clean up after themselves.
Monday was a lazy day of playing and getting the water table out.  Juliet still loves water so that was a good investment.  She has started eating cake as long as there is no icing on it.  That's a start from crying every time she would see a piece.
Juliet gives all out hugs.  She runs toward you and jumps in your lap throwing her arms around you.  I have to watch out or my chin gets clocked by her head.  They are awesome though.  Today is back to work and school and we all didn't want to this morning.  Pictures this Saturday, pray the rain goes away!  This is Texas, when has it rained in July??  Check out flickr, tons of new pics are up!

Cute Followup

This morning our little monkey learned that chickens go bock bock and flap their wings!  We are getting there!

Monkey

Ask Juliet what does a monkey do and start making a monkey sound and she will give you the sign for a chicken.  Close and we are going to work on it.  It is so cute that she brought me a picture of a monkey this morning and I said monkey and she did the sign she thought was right.  I checked with the teacher to make sure this morning.  Flap like a chicken, scratch your side for monkey.
