Gummie Yummy

We were told at our last dr visit that Juliet needed to be taking vitamins.  Well we refuse to give her those stinky and nasty tasting liquid vitamins because well that is torture on all of us.  So a few weeks ago I buy princess gummies.  She refuses them.  Everyday I take one and Jon takes one and she just looks at us like we are nuts.  About a week ago, Jon sticks one in her mouth and she chews it and starts begging for more.  More More with words and sign language.  Since then, there has been no issue getting her to take her vitamin, we have had to hide the bottle so she doesn't stand there and point at it and cry.
This child is a talker, if you haven't visited the word list in a while you should.  She has a ton of words now.

18 month appointment

Today we took Juliet in for her 18 month dr. appointment.  She is 33inches tall and 25 pounds.  She actually got to stand on the scale like a big girl instead of having to sit in the baby scale.  She still screamed.  There were great toys in this room to keep her occupied, a push toy, a mailbox and a toy where the battery was dying so it only worked some of the time.  She was so confused on whu it would not work.  She is happy and healthy as we knew.  She had to have her HepA #1 shot, of course she screamed.  He did say she is going to be tall, which we kinda expected, but only time will tell on how she will be!  We had alot of fun getting to play with her this morning.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day Daddy!

Juliet said daddy for the first time today.  Usually it is Dada over and over again but she popped out with daddy as we were getting ready to go to Wal-Mart.  What good timing since today is Father's Day.
We started out the day watching our cartoons, gave daddy his presents and then went to church.  We were late, as usual and since Juliet was cranky we didn't make it through bible study.  We came home and met Mama and Papa for just a little bit and then Juliet and Mommy took a 3 hour nap, that we both desperately needed.
When we woke up we found Uncle Craig here and he and Juliet played Mrs. Potato Head and ball.  It didn't take long for her to warm up to him.  He's a likable guy.  Juliet ate 2 small pieces of pizza for dinner, after she crawled up in my lap and stole the piece I was eating, this seems to be a habit she is getting into.
We went to Wal-Mart for some things for the week, forgot nana's, we are in trouble, and came home for bath and bed.  Tomorrow starts another long week, 18 month old dr. appt on Friday which involves a shot... Fun, NOT!
Hope you have a great week,
Love Laura

End of the world - So she thought

We did things out of order this morning due to the chaos that my car battery dying threw us in.  We wanted to get out of the house early but did not want to take Juliet early so Jon could have breakfast with her for Father's Day.  We didn't get to give her a banana, she only got her cereal and that did not sit well with her.  Jon got in my car without her and that brought on another fit, we got to the dealership with no issues and once he got in the car the sun in her eyes made her cranky.  They dropped me at work, she was upset because she wanted out of her seat and that couldn't happen yet.  Almost there baby doll!  They got to school and she was upset because she was hungry and knew breakfast was there.  Well, she dropped her biscuit and the world ended.  Jon had gone to get a doughnut and when he got  back she was screaming.  Of course her teacher got her another biscuit and all was right in the world again, but I have to be better about making sure that when we are going to mess with the schedule so badly, we make sure she is tended.  Just because we can adjust our schedules easily, any slight deviation makes her edgy and she lets us know it.  Of course I was warned about this by another mother, once they get in a routine they don't like to deviate from it.  It made me sad all day that the choices we had to make made her day start out stressful.

Another example is her bubu (book if you can believe that), she knows that after her bath it is time to read her book and eat yogurt.  Smart little toot!
Tonight we had fried rice for dinner, I didn't think she would like it so I warmed her up some roast.  No, she wanted to sit in my lap and eat half of my rice and drink all of my tea.  I would never deny her anything I had because I can always find something else and she is so picky sometimes, but it was so funny to watch her scarf down that rice when most times she turns her head at it.
We may be going back to the dr in the am if that diaper rash still looks as bad as it does.
OK going to bed!

A little bit of hectic

It has been an interesting week.  I picked up Juliet from school Monday and she had a large oozing bite on each leg.  I was concerned with what could have bitten her.  We have had this before and had the medicine that the doctor gave her.  Of course I was in trouble with the doctor for not bringing her in, but I stay in trouble so it doesn't matter.  She is already on a 10 day antibiotic and we are watching it closely.  If it does get worse or continues to not get any better we will take her in.  She has decided that she needs to throw a fit at bedtime now, still doesn't get her out of the bed so she calms down pretty quickly.
One half of our bedroom furniture is going to be her on Friday, the headboard is stuck in customs so we will have to wait on that.  We called Northwest Ministries and they are going to come haul the old stuff away.  I am having a little bit of separation anxiety since this has been my furniture since I was a little girl.  Can't wait to have grown-up furniture though.
We hope that Aunt Maddie has an awesome time at Girl Scout camp this week!!  I loved camp!!

What a way to start a Saturday

So my plans for a quiet Saturday were completely shattered at 10:30 last night when Juliet started screaming because she couldn't breathe.  Finally around midnight I cleaned out her nose and she was able to sleep.  Needless to say she didn't get a good night sleep and woke up cranky.  We decided to go ahead and take her into see Dr. Ori, don't want it getting any worse.  He took one look at her and said sinus infection and couldn't find anything else wrong so that is good.  She weighs 24.8 lbs and is 33.5 inches long.  She is happy and healthy!

Our Little Priss

So we pick up Juliet from Mama this afternoon and she shows me a video of her playing in the water and she would take her hand put it in the water and rub it over her face.  (Still trying to figure out how to get that video!)  Well on the way to Lowe's we noticed her licking her hand, rubbing them together then rubbing them on her face.  It reminds me of putting on lotion, it's silly.  Then in the bath tonight she does it again except she puts her chin in her hands and grins at us.  What a priss, where does she get this stuff?
We had a rough night again Thursday night and #11 made it's appearance sometime either Friday or Saturday because when I felt this morning it is there.  Poor baby!  Every tooth wants to come in at the same time.  I thought we were going to have another bad night tonight because she woke up screaming for no reason we could see, but went back to sleep after a little soothing.
Hope everyone is well, just a quick update on the home front!  Back to work and school tomorrow, continue to pray she learns to like the new class in the mornings.

Love to all,
Laura

Bath Drain

Juliet found the bath drain tonight.  Usually she just likes to push it down.  Tonight she pulled it up and let some of the water drain.  This was great fun to her until she realized she was loosing her water then it had to be stopped.  Of course then she wanted me to turn the water back on so she could get what she lost back!
She ate from the time we got home until the time she went to bed; crackers, cheerios, fruit loops, grapes, ice cream, strawberry shake, chicken nuggets, yogurt , and a whole sippy of water, and I may have missed something in there somewhere.  She must be growing again!
We haven't had the best week in our new class, she doesn't seem to be adjusting in the am, but is fine after a while.
We continue to receive positive news on Drew, from his Mommy and Meme.  God is good!  Continuing to pray!
We hope all is well in your part of the world!

Love to all!
