Explains some of it

Tooth #10 made it's appearance.  That explains some of the crankiness.  This is 2 in 5 days and I think I would be cranky too.  Might I suggest not putting your fingers anywhere near her mouth!!

Growing up

Tooth number 9 made it's appearance on the 27th and there are 2 more trying to come in!
Juliet has very much become the independent little girl.  She gets up and puts diapers in the trash can after we change her.  She knows how to climb on the commode and sit and watch you get dressed in the morning.  Makes us be diligent about having the lid down.  She loves the scale, I think because when she turns it on it beeps, and when it is finished weighing her it beeps again.  It is a constant thrill that brings many delighted laughs.  She now puts herself to sleep every night in her own bed by herself with little to no fuss.
Mama bought a bubble machine for their house and Juliet loved it so much that I had to get one for here.   I am going to try tomorrow to get pictures of her in her flag dress at the park.  Hopefully the rain will be gone by then and we will be successful and will be able to get some of her with the bubbles too.
We started her new class last week and I think that after next week we should be ok.  If she will eat all will be good.
We continue to pray for Drew and it looks like as we all know, God is good and is blessing his family with good reports.

Love to all

Drew

We are praying for Drew and his parents as he is in the hospital with an infection in his knee that required surgery.  His parents were told today they would be there at least two weeks before they got to come home and he would have to have a central line put in to administer antibiotics.  We are getting updates from his mommy via Facebook and her blog http://vargasvindicator.blogspot.com/.  We love you Drew!!  Here is a pic of a smiling little boy, this shows you what a tough little cookie he is!!
Love to you all,

17 months

Today Juliet turned 17 months old, wow time is flying fast!  We got up, played in the scale, which said she is 25 lbs, played with our toys, watched Handy Manny and Mickey Mouse and ran around in our new squeaker shoes!  She doesn't like them at first, but then gets this look on her face and takes off.  Then we were so cranky that we went down for almost a 3 hour nap.  After she got up we went to look at bedroom furniture for the master bedroom.  We found some and are really happy and we got to see what Juliet would look like in her big girl bed.  To me she looks so tiny in that bed.
We had dinner tonight with our friends, the Pennington's, and on the way we would say hands up Juliet and she would raise her hands over her head and laugh, she also gives high fives and tens a lot now!  It is precious, check out Flickr.
Yesterday we spent in Liberty with Mama, Aunt Jessie and Stanford.  We were celebrating Mother's Day a little late.  You get Juliet and Stanford together and those two are loud, they would stand in the kitchen and bark at each other.  They are also both very jealous when the other one has Mama's attention.  They both wanted to be in her lap or around her at all times.  We had such a good time just being together, we never get to just hang out and just relax.  I really think Juliet was saying Bubbie, which is what Aunt Jessie calls Stanford and I know she said NO, because she was looking right at me when she did.  More later!

Official Notice

Today Juliet and Mommy were given the official notice that Juliet will move to the next class starting on Monday.  It is a staged transition with a few hours on Monday then more as the week goes on and then a full day on Friday.  Please pray for us that the transition goes smoothly.  We love Mrs. Rosa and Mrs. Kinicki and they love Juliet.  It's always hard to change your routine.

Choo

Juliet thinks it's very funny when daddy plays sneezing.  She will giggle loudly at him.  She will say "too" for choo when he does it.

Growing up

For mother's day jon made blueberry muffins for muffins with mommy and Juliet ate some with me.  I was really surprised because they have the same consistency as cake and she will not eat cake.
We had some strawberries and blueberries and she decided that she wanted to try them.  She really liked the blueberries, she ate the strawberries, but didn't like them as much.  Then she decided mommy needed to eat them so she force fed them to me until she got bored and started smashing them in her hands.  When I got up to put them away, she tried to get off the chair and ended up doing a header off the chair, made it look more like a flip.  We all laughed at that one, even though I think my heart skipped a beat.
The other night I made a stubby pony tail out of Juliet's hair, it was so precious.

For our 5th anniversary, Jon and I ate lunch together and he got my windows tinted.  He also bought me tulips, which are my favorite flowers.

Saturday before we went into Liberty she ate yogurt, eggs for breakfast then ate alot of Fruit Loops.  Saturday night she ate Mas Amigos fajita chicken and tortillas for dinner and tortillas, chicken and cheese for lunch Sunday.
We went to a birthday party on Sunday, she still will not even try cake only wants the ice cream.  She got to play with a kitten after she chased them around the yard.  It was so funny to watch her yell at and chase them around the back yard.  I was so proud of her for jumping in and playing with all the kids.

If you ask her what she has in her mouth she will open it and show you or stick out her tongue as to say Nutin.

An update to the stand: We put her in her bed and she cries for just a minute and then lays down.  She is usually asleep in around 15 minutes and is doing so good with going to sleep on her own.  I think she has realized this is not an option and she feels better in the morning after a good night sleep.

Lots going on in our world!
Love to all!

5 years ago today

Around 2 in the afternoon 5 years ago today, at First Baptist Church in Liberty, Jon and I became husband and wife.  I remember walking through the doors and seeing him standing there smiling at me and I remember not feeling nervous at all until after it was all over and knowing at that moment I had never been happier.  These five years have been wonderful and I look forward to many more together.

Update on The Stand

We played so hard with our new water play table that Juliet went to bed at 8:15 and with very little crying or screaming she was asleep in around 15 minutes.  Not bad for day 2.  Here is a pic of her with her new toy!

Taking a stand

We are taking the stand at out house that Juliet is not in charge and she does not run our lives.  After 1.5 hours Sunday night of trying to get her to go to sleep, Jon decided that it was time for her to go to sleep on her own in her own bed.  We started a bedtime routine trying to get her to understand it is time for bed.  At 8 last night she was put in her crib, with plenty of things to play with, and we left the room.  Of course that didn't go over well at all.  She breaks my heart when she cries like that.  I went in once to hold and comfort her, but I don't think it helped, me or her.  She fell asleep after 30 minutes of being in her bed.  She woke up this morning happy and full of smiles and hugs.  (So she doesn't hate us as I thought she would.)  Tonight we do it again.  Pray for us.

This and That

Congrats Gramma Sarah on Passing the Bar!  You are now officially one of those lawyers!

Juliet's communication about what she wants is getting a little better.  She says wowurt, for yogurt and we get that one pretty easily and she has taken to pointing at what she wants and shaking her head no if it is not the right thing, it will become screams fast if you don't get it right the first few times.  You ask her where her belly button is and she lifts her shirt and shows it to you and says something close to belly button.  She had her first taste of lemon last night at dinner and you can imagine the sour look that crossed her face, as we did not have a camera handy.  She knows exactly who Mickey Mouse is and when you ask do you want to watch Mickey she runs for the TV saying something that could be Mickey.  As you can see, vocabulary is growing.

We did buy a big carton of yogurt to see if she would eat it.  She turned her head away until daddy sat down with her and offered to share his with her.  Yeah right daddy, once she saw him eating HER yogurt it was the best stuff and would give him evil looks if he tried to take a bite.  She is doing so much better with her eating and we do not offer her baby food at all at home anymore.

I have been asking her , "Juliet can I have a hug" and she ignores me, so I tried "Juliet can I have a kiss", and she would come give me a great big hug.  So we have been working on the difference between hug and kiss.  Yesterday when we were playing with the sidewalk chalk that I got her, I asked her, "Juliet where is my kiss" and she got up and leaned over toward me very prissy and turned her cheek toward me!!  We got it!

Morning Sunshine

This morning I went in to get Juliet up. She will usually, either wake up on her own and lay there and start talking and be in a good mood or I have to wake her up and she is a bear for a few minutes. This morning I walked in to get her and I didn't see her right away. She was sitting in the corner of the crib talking to her self. She looked up at me and smiled and scrambled up so I could pick her up. She grabbed her blanket and gave a huge hug. I love the mornings that are happy and full of hugs. Makes my day easier.

Not where we expected

Tooth #8 is there, but not where we expected it to be.  I was trying to see if there were any new ones yesterday and felt something sharp on the top back right of her mouth.  Apparently one of her molars has come in.  We were expecting the one on the bottom right of her bottom front teeth to be the next one but apparently not.  It also must feel good when we rub the new one because she let us rub her gum and normally doesn't do that.  You have to be careful though because if she gets you with those front teeth you will know it.
