Night Two Was WORSE
She woke up at 12:30, 3:30 and at 6:30 and wanted to eat at all wakings. I almost caved at the 3:30 wake up call.
This too shall pass.

Night One Without Paci
Didn't go all that hot, she whimpered and cried alot. About 11 she really screamed so we gave her a bottle and she went back to sleep. Around 1, 3, 4:30 and 6 she started her cry once to see if anyone will come get me. No one did so she went back to sleep. When I got her up around 7 she hunted for her paci to wake up with so I just picked her up to take her mind off it. Some updates, Juliet loves to high five and our newest game, for a few weeks is to give you something then she wants to take it right back and still likes to unpack everything in mommy's purse then I have to repack it and she unpacks it again. Hey, keeps her from screaming through church.

1 year check-up
Juliet thinks her daddy and I need a spanking because we let her get three shots today, MMR, Chicken Pox and TB screening. Believe me it hurts me about as much as it hurts her, and I don't forget about it in 10 minutes.
She is 21.6 lbs and 30 1/4 inches. Dr. Ori is very happy with her growth and her development. He was surprised at how active she is. He had never seen the yogurt bites so she shared with him. He asked when we were going to do away with the paci, we said after Hawaii, but I am ready for them to go. I don't think she really needs it, it is just a comfort.
This weekend is Juliet's cousin Drew's birthday party in Liberty, should be fun!Saturday, December 26, 2009

All I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth
Well, we are half way there!!
Juliet got her left front tooth today!!!
Merry Christmas

Yes Yes
Juliet nodded her head yes today. This is new, Mama and I both made that same comment. She was sitting in her high chair looking at the bag of yogurt bites while we were having birthday cookie cake. When I picked up the bag she started nodding yes, like she was saying "Yes, Mommy, that is what I want". It was too cute.
Happy Birthday Juliet Claire
One year ago today, at 6:04 pm, we welcomed our beautiful Juliet Claire. Our little angel with big blue eyes and a full head of brown hair captured our hearts with her first cry. Her Daddy sang Here Comes Santa Claus as he fed her for the first time. She was truly our best Christmas present.
Can you believe it has been a whole year? Where has the time gone? What a year it has been.
She has a smile that lights up a room, you can’t help but smile back. She gives awesome hugs that make you want to hold on tight. She will say Mama or Dada over and over again. Her face will light up when we walk in the room and she can’t get to us fast enough. Socks and shoes are made to be taken off, in a 2.5 mile trip from home to school she will do just that. She will race toward an open fridge to get there before it closes, and loves to stand and stare into it. She will dance to any music, tv show or just counting to 10. Bed time is a chore and she will fight it until she just gives up. She will not hold a bottle, but will hold her ears instead.Yogurt is her preferred meal with yogurt bites as her snack of choice. Her favorite toy is the remote. She wants to play on the stairs and throws a hissy fit if you tell her no.
It made us sad to have to reschedule her birthday party because of pneumonia, but we are well now and the party will take place in January. We are glad that there are no more ear infections, it broke our hearts to see her in pain.
We are truly blessed by this child. We are so glad that you are able to share in her life. The pictures are at her birth, 1 month, 6 months and almost a year! The change is so dramatic.
I love you my Juliet Claire!

Not FAIR Mommy
Yesterday I started adding gifts under the tree for Christmas and someones birthday. Well up until now, Juliet has wanted nothing to do with the tree, she cries when she gets near it. Well yesterday was the turning point. She wants to touch the gifts and has gone as far as to drop her blocks near the gifts and in one case, a gift from Mrs. Donna, I caught her putting her block in the bag so she would have to "get it out", and pull the paper out with it.
Silly little girl, you have 2 days until you can open that bag, you will just have to wait.
I just read that Juliet's cousin Drew is sick again. Please pray for his recovery before Christmas and his birthday.

Faster Pace
Tonight we noticed Juliet walking faster than she normally does. She was really getting with it to get where she wanted to go before we closed doors or walk away from her. I noticed it first when I put her down at her learning table, walked over to the closet to put away a Christmas present and when I looked down she was standing next to me looking in the closet giggling. Then Jon walked away from her and she picked up the pace to catch up with him so she could climb the stairs with him.
Can you believe that in 1 week she will be a year old?

Update on Juliet
Happy Birthday to Mama tomorrow!!
We took Juliet back to the dr today. Not getting any worse so that is good. He tried to use a nebulizer on her and she had some kind of funny reaction to the way the medicine reacted with her body. Needless to say we will not be buying one of those fun things. Good, holding her down was the pits. She hated it, cried and screamed like we were hurting her. I am sure the lady with the week old in the next room was wondering what we were doing to our child. We are hoping she is going to shake this so we can all go back to work and school.

Pneumonia
Yes, you read that right, Juliet has pneumonia. My wish is that 2010 be a illness free year. We have had our share of illness and I want it to stop. I have canceled her birthday party, possibility of it being rescheduled at a later time. My sweet baby doesn't let much phase her, but when she doesn't feel good, she can't sleep and that wears on her, and me too. Please pray for her, and for Jon and me, that we all make it through this. I am not sleeping because she isn't sleeping. Every time I lay down she starts crying, I pray for strength and patience. We are sleeping in the guest room trying to keep her elevated on pillows.
Anyone with suggestions, please share.

Kleenex box is great fun
Juliet found the Kleenex box yesterday morning so you can guess what she did. Yes, she pulled them all out of the box and proceeded to shred them. I have it on video, but as with all three I took yesterday I held the camera wrong, so I have to rotate them before I can post it.
I am so excited! Juliet's first birthday party is on Saturday!!

Juliet Claire and Santa Claus
Juliet sat in Santa's lap today and we got an unexpected reaction. She turned and looked at him and put her fingers in his beard. No tears and no screaming. When we took her off she acted like she wanted to go back to him. She was not scared at all.
My little type A personality, like Mommy, she will talk to anyone!
1st Birthday Portraits
We had Juliet's first birthday portraits done today. Can't wait to see them. She was such a baby doll.

Juliet's First Snowfall
And it promises to be a beautiful one!
Pictures to be posted soon, I am hoping some will start sticking soon so I can get some fun shots. Juliet is not impressed, she is more interested in playing in the window and pushing her toys around the room.
As I write, I am sitting in the bay window of my childhood bedroom watching my child stare out the window trying to figure out what exactly is going on out there. Through this all, I seem to have taught her how to climb up into the window and get down. SORRY MOM!! I loved that window seat as a child and I know that the hours Juliet will play in that window will bring her joy.
Oops, I have lost her, betcha $10 she is playing with those little tractors! Yup! I win!

New Learnings
Juliet has learned something new this week. She has learned how to turn herself around and go feet first off the end of our bed. O-boy the fun times that is going to cause for us. She still has a fascination with the baby bouncer and doors. All doors must go open and close and forbid there be something in the way of that door closing. As I type she is giggling over Jon crinkling a dry cleaning bag. It doesn't take much to entertain her and she always finds something to get into that she isn't supposed to have, example cords...
Hope everyone is in the holiday spirit. We have 1st Birthday pictures on Saturday, 1st Birthday Party on the 12th, and 1st Birthday on the 23rd and then it's technically her first Christmas, coming home from the hospital on Christmas day shouldn't count.
Merry Christmas ALL!

Grandmother Hearts Beware
Juliet is now a professional stair climber, as long as Mommy or Daddy is right behind her on the stairs. My heart stopped the first time I looked over and she was up 4 out of 5 stairs and there was no one around her. She had the biggest grin on her face and was climbing really good. I also noticed that a spanking did nothing to keep her off the stairs so we decided the best way is the safe way. We are teaching her to be safe on the stairs. We have really good gates on our stairs we just have to be very diligent about keeping them locked. She loves climbing, I should have known since the toy at school allows her to climb.

Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
We spent the holiday in Frisco, TX with Juliet's grandparents and aunt and uncle. We drove up on Wednesday and it was a 4 1/2 hour drive. When we got here the kids were so excited to see Jon. They have a dog and 2 cats. Juliet did not want to have anything to do with the dog or Christy cat, but Walter, the black, doesn't like people cat, Juliet and Walter seem to want to study each other. Walter will come around the corner and stare at her and Juliet will giggle out loud when she sees him.
Thursday we had lunch with family and some friends. We spent the day getting food ready and playing with the kids on the Wii. We ended up at Michael's for their shopping.
Friday we went shopping and bought Lewisville out for the kid's Christmas. Madison and Sullivan are going to be so surprised at Christmas. We visited Grandma and Granddaddy and Aunt Hazel. It is always fun to visit with family.
We went shopping at Garden Ridge and I put Santa hats and Reindeer antlers on Juliet. She really hates it when I do that.

Checkup
I took Juliet in to see Dr. Ori today because she has a cough and everyone that keeps her tells me that she constantly pulls on her ears, which is teething and habit, hope she breaks that one soon. Mommy on the other hand has a sore throat and cough, 10 days of meds for me. She is healthy and ready to start on whole milk, well half formula and half milk. Should be interesting, have heard different stories from different people on this. She loves food too, anything I give her she will eat. I have to watch her or her hands are in my plate grabbing food if I am too slow.
She is 21 lbs 11 ozs and 30 inches long. He is very happy with her growth!
11 Months
Can you believe it? Juliet Claire is 11 months old today. Seems like it was last week we were bringing her home.
We put up the Christmas tree last night and she really did not want to have anything to do with it. She really loved the Frosty that I have that sings and daces and twirls snowflakes. Yup, you guessed it, she dances along with him. She did like one thing about the tree thou, the box it came in. She played in it by herself for 15 minutes straight. At least I knew where she was and that she was safe. She was into everything last night and did not go to bed until 10.
For the first time this last weekend we put Juliet in the nursery at church. You know how big of a step this is for me. I cherish all the time that I get to spend with her on the weekends so leaving her again is tough on me. After missing the entire sermon last Sunday, and I get alot from Nathan's sermons, (www.nehbc.com), we decided it was best that we take her to the nursery. I felt like they wanted her there and knew they would call if there was a problem. They held her and loved on her when she cried, that helped me alot.
We have Thanksgiving this week in Frisco, then it's Aunt Jessie's birthday, good luck Uncle Derek on your last test on the 30th, then Juliet's birthday pictures, then her party!!! Lots going on!!

*Muah*
When I walked into her classroom at school today, Juliet blew me a kiss. We have been working on this, well I will do it, she will stare at me, so this was exciting for me. I like it that her teachers get excited when I get excited about something she does.
They had a parade that Jon and I missed. I got pictures of her in her hat though, look for those later this weekend.
Love to all.

Juliet's bump on the head
As I walked into the daycare yesterday, Tuesday, the lady at the door says, "I was just about to call you". Uh-o I think what now. Apparently while standing at the toy box that has all the books in it, with the mirror behind it, surprise surprise, she slipped and hit her head on the toy chest. She has a small red mark above her eye and that is all. I had to check the chest to make sure it was fine though. That kid has a very hard head.

Big Weekend
Juliet had a big weekend.
Anything that remotely sounds like music she will dance to. Her teachers told me on Friday they counted to 10 and she danced to that. Silly goose.
We spent the night with Mama on Friday night so she and Juliet got to play. Then on Saturday Juliet got to stay with Meme and Poppa while Mommy and Daddy went to the Renaissance Festival. It was so nice knowing that she didn't have to be out in the heat and bugs and "grossness" that is the ren fest. I have to say that she really enjoyed her visits. She also got to play with Auntie Angie and Drew. Juliet and Drew are so close in age that they are doing all the same things. I am glad though, that Drew holds his own. When Juliet would steal his toy, he would take it back. They are really cute together.
Poppa told me that Meme would tell her to get out of the cabinets and JC just looked at her, he would tell her to get out and JC would start shutting doors. It is the way he says it. Never raises his voice, you just know he means it.
Juliet has a runny nose and a cough now, fun, weather changing. We are watching that and the way she is pulling on her ears all the time again. Could be teething, could be something else, gonna watch it and start her back on the Zyrtec.
Today we went to church at Aunt Jessie and Uncle Derek's church. We really like to hear Nathan preach. Juliet was fussy so she and I went outside during the sermon, not that I missed anything, big monitors that I could watch and hear. We got to see Nicole and all the kiddos too. That is always nice, they are such sweet kids.
Not much going on this week, birthday invites should go out on Monday!

Curiosity got her fingers
Juliet smashed her fingers in the door in the bathroom this morning. I have been waiting on this to happen it just took longer than I thought it would.
Also this morning Juliet learned how to open drawers, Thank You Dada. She watched him get a Q-Tip from the drawer and it didn't take long before she was sliding it open and closed.
She doesn't like anything to be in it's place, no puzzle pieces in the board, no animals on the stack, no toys in the basket, nothing.
She is getting too smart for us.

Smarty Britches
Juliet woke up before 6 this morning ready to play so we brought her into our room and I shut the door because our room is right next to the stairs and I didn't want her to crawl out the door.
When the latch clicked, she looked at me and said Bye-Bye and started waving at me. She is such the smart girl.
BTW Dada got to experience her walking to Elmo this morning so I didn't make it up.

ELMO
A first since the ears, Juliet slept from 8:30 - 6:30 last night only waking up at 4:30 to be rocked. She didn't eat last night!!
Last night as I was putting an entire basket of clothes away in Juliet's room, she found her closet, and what did she find in her closet??? ELMO! Daddy's favorite. This is one of those toys that is supposed to move and flip, has never worked, but he does stand on his own. She hugs him and tires to eat his eyes, and she will take steps to him. So I held him away from her and she took 3 steps toward him before she grabbed him and collapsed under his weight. He is pretty heavy. This is the first time since Sunday she has shown any desire to walk again. We are not pushing her, just letting her go on her own.
Juliet has also started giving huge hugs. Last night she crawled into my lap and put her arms around my neck and laid her head on my shoulder and stayed very still for a good while. It was so nice. She has gotten where she doesn't need us to play with her, just be in the same room. It's nice to know she wants me still.

Thinking about a year ago
Do you remember what we were all doing a year ago?
We were planning for 2 babies, I had been on bed rest for about a week, and we were getting ready for a wedding. This time of the year was so on fast forward last year that when I look at the calendar this year, I wonder what we are supposed to be doing.
A summary for you, if you have forgotten
10/4 - Jessie and Derek Party
10/11 - Angie baby shower and Jessie Pre-Bridals
10/18 - Jessie bridal shower
10/25 - My baby shower
11/1 - My luncheon
11/8 - My prego pictures
11/15 - Jessie and Derek Wedding
we had a week off then Thanksgiving... That was every weekend!!
Hope everyone has a nice relaxed holiday season this year!

First Step
I am calling it, Juliet took her first step!!
Jon calls it half a step, but she moved one foot forward while standing on her own, that is a step!
Happy Halloween
Happy Halloween 2009 is over and we survived.
We started the day shopping in the Woodlands with Mama. We ended up getting Juliet's Christmas dress, she is precious, and her a coat. (Mommy got a pretty coat too)
We did not go Trick-or-Treating this year, not something I felt comfortable with. Instead we attended the Fall Festival at Northeast Houston Baptist church. They went through alot of trouble to make a safe and fun place for kids to be. Juliet was so cranky it was not even funny. She did pick a duck from the pond, played pachinko, made sand art, spun the wheel of prizes, did the cake walk and jumped in the blow up castle. She fell asleep on the way home and I almost had her in bed when some kid rang the doorbell, (don't get me started on the safety of Halloween and not going to dark houses), and woke her up. Oh-Well
Juliet is now sleeping in her high chair (5pm) because she would not take a nap today.
A little funny, Juliet was wandering around where she was not supposed to be this morning and she fell and hit her head, on a pillow, you would have thought she hit the ceramic tile. We are sooo melodramatic when we are tired.
Check out flickr for pics.

Eating Habits
Juliet is now a Nilla Wafer cookie monster, a Cheerio hog and a Gerber puff fanatic.
As I type I caught her putting a Cheerio in her mouth. She tends to let you think she can't do it. Don't try to hand her a cookie either, you have to put it on her tray and let her pick it up and hold it. I still break up the puffs because she tends to choke on them.
I have also started giving her almost anything I have on my plate. She loves bread, pasta, LOVES chocolate pudding and ice cream, wants to drink water only from a big girl cup and let me tell you that is a sight and a mess.
My baby is growing up so fast.
CONGRATULATIONS to Aunt Jessie and Uncle Derek, they closed on their house today. They have taken step 2 in the life plan. Get Married, Buy a House... We all know what is next... House Warming! What did you think I meant???

Smarter than you think
This morning we were getting ready for school and Juliet had taken a wipe from the container and was playing with it, aka putting it in her mouth. When Jon took it away from her and put it behind his back, she looked at him like I know you have it and I know where it is. She put her hand on his shoulder and pushed him around trying to see behind his back. He would move it from hand to hand and she would keep trying to spin him around. Getting too smart for us!!
How are you today?

Refuses to Nap
First though, Juliet got to pet her first horse today. Poppa had Slim in the front yard today, he is a retired show horse and he is very friendly. Trivia: They put show horses under heat lamps to keep their coat from growing.
Juliet's cousin Drew is 10 months tomorrow!! He is such the snuggle bunny. Had no problem giving Aunt Lollie kisses and snuggles!
Juliet refuses to nap when she is supposed to in the afternoon now. She fights us when she does go down and it makes her a very cranky little girl when we go somewhere. Today we had pictures scheduled at Meme and Poppa's and Juliet did not take her nap. Mama tried for 2 hours to get her to go down, but she wanted to play. She did this yesterday when we were coming back from the zoo. She needs her nap, there is no way around it. She plays hard and needs to recharge, even if only for a short time.

Zoo-asterous
Well, it wasn't that bad, definitely could have been worse, but wasn't the outing Mommy planned. Juliet was in some kind of mood today, think it had to do with not napping very well. We got there and she screamed through the carousel ride. She had no interest in the animals. Loved playing in the gift shop, (Check out flickr), and loved sharing Daddy's ice cream and was ready to go home. Needless to say it was HOT and I am sure that did not help. Since when is 75 hot? O-Well, I had fun and it is fun memories.

I feel a Hissy Fit coming on
And boy is she getting good at them.
Juliet no longer gets into her car seat like a good girl. She arches her back and screams because she doesn't want to be facing back and doesn't want to be by herself. It's a fight.
Jon also told me this morning that she cries when someone new comes into her classroom. She also didn't want to leave with him to go to the Dr. She wanted to stay with Mrs. Munez, big surprise.
No flu shot today, the Dr's office ran out and forgot to call us. SIGH

The joys of child-proofing
Juliet watched her daddy open a cabinet today and that was all it took for her to open the cabinets and try to crawl in. The biggest problem with this is she wanted the cabinet under the sink. Think about what is under your sink and you see the issue with this very quickly. So out came the dreaded cabinet locks, the drill, a screwdriver and little bitty helping hands. (JC if you are confused) We got the sink secure after putting her in her chair and feeding her bits of Nilla Wafers, yummmmy, to keep her distracted. Then it was upstairs for a 1 1/2 hour nap, YAY!!!, in that time daddy fixed all the cabinets except the Tupperware one, she can play with those. She can't reach anything else so we are OK for now as long as we keep the pantry and washroom doors closed.
In other news, we got a new dishwasher last week that is so quiet you can carry on a conversation without yelling at each other. Juliet and I are so proud of Dada because he put it in himself.

Giggles
Juliet gets the giggles, it is so precious.
She likes to laugh with you, so if you want her to laugh you need to start the laughter! There is something about the stairs that sets her off too. Walking up the stairs she starts bouncing in your arms and laughing.
We were laying in bed last night trying to get her to calm down and I started laughing at something, I know not calm, but when I started laughing, she did too. It's not just chuckles, it is belly laughs and they are contagious.
I was talking to Mama this morning and she told me that when Aunt Jessie and Uncle Derek were leaving, Stanford was licking Juliet's feet and she was laughing at that.
This makes me think she feels better and I am so glad that she feels better. It has been too long since she felt really good!

Tiny Dancer
Today I got to stay home with Juliet one more day because she is sick.
We have been watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Handy Manny ALL morning.... I noticed this morning that when Mickey said the words to get the clubhouse to appear she started bouncing up and down like she was dancing along with the song. She started a little early, but realized there was no song and waited until the song started and started bouncing and up and down dancing!!!
It was so precious!!!
Note! - Fever is gone, she is still really clingy and having some other issues, but she is in really good spirits. Attacking the laptop as we speak. Thank you all for the love you sent her way!!
We are so blessed to have family and friends like you!

WHY
So we went from laughing baby yesterday to 102.5 and up fever today. What is going on here? She has been asleep since 5:45, its 9:30, and all she does is cry and go back to sleep. So of course when I call the Dr. he gives me the dreaded F word and I panic! Why does my poor sweet girl have to be sick again?? Send your hugs and kisses and prayers her way.

True Canton Shopper
Juliet is a true Canton girl now.
But before that, Juliet now waves bye-bye to people, it is so cute, she does the baby thing of open and closing her fingers toward herself when you say wave bye-bye. She also stands up on her own so much better now. She stood on her own, squatted like she wanted to sit, then stood back up. Her balance has improved soooo much since the surgery! She even acted like she wanted to take a step to daddy last night!!!
AND Welcome Home James, Cailin and Conall Oreschnigg!!!
This past weekend, Mommy, Mama, Aunt Jessie, Lynne and Juliet Claire went to Canton, TX for First Monday. We drove up and arrived at the bed and breakfast (The Azalea House) around 11pm. Juliet is such a trooper and slept most of the way. In the Suburban we rented, her seat leaned back more.
Friday morning we started with breakfast (yum) and were off for a full day of shopping, with Juliet taking 2 long naps in her stroller. Sweet Girl. We had a very successful hunting and gathering trip. We bought a car full.
Saturday we went back but only spent 3 hours shopping, but still managed to find goodies!
We got home around 5 and had to separate goodies! Juliet and I got home around 8 and we were both exhausted.
Sunday we had lunch with the Oreschnigg family. They are home now, and we are excited. They will go this week to look for a house and school for the kids. We are so glad they are home!
Thursday, October 1, 2009
Welcome home Oreschniggs
Welcome home James, Cailin and Conall!!
We are so glad you are home safe and sound.
We love you!!
Successful Ear Surgery
Juliet's surgery went well, they took her around 9:23am and the entire procedure took 15 minutes. We were leaving the surgical center at 10am. She has been very cranky and clingy this afternoon, but all things we were warned about. Don't let me fool you, the whole waking a baby from local anesthesia is NOT a joy. She had her eyes closed screaming for a while.
She woke up screaming at 4 this morning and we couldn't figure out what was going on. Come to find out when he got in there she had another double (bi-lateral) ear infection - SIGH. He cleaned out all the yucky stuff and she should heal nicely.
We thank everyone who thought about us this morning.

New Games
Juliet found the toilet paper roll tonight and had a ball unrolling it for me. It was my fault, I put the roll on while she was looking and it didn't take her long to figure out what it did. I happened to catch her playing on camera.
We played in her room for a while after bath and she decided she wanted clothes in her basket, big surprise I know, but tonight there were not many clothes in the basket so she ended up going face first into the basket to get the clothes. Once she figured it out she was completely in the basket sitting up. OF course by the time we got to the video camera she was through playing.
I cut her bangs last night so they aren't in her face, they aren't perfect, but they aren't hanging in her eyes anymore.
Something New Everyday
Last night we were sitting on the floor in the living room and Juliet was crawling all over me. I was half paying attention to what she was doing when she put her hands on my legs and pushed herself up to standing and then let go and stood there. She had the happiest look on her face. She clapped her hands, realized what she was doing then sat down. Jon and I were so proud of her!
Juliet's dr appt for this week is being rescheduled until after her ear surgery. Keep praying for her, and mommy and daddy.
Love to all

She deserves a break
But she can't seem to catch one.
We are finished with 10 days of antibiotics and now she has bacterial pink eye in both eyes. How does this happen? Doesn't she deserve not to have to be held down for medicine for once in almost 2 months or longer? I got the call today and when I got there she was quarantined in her bed with a few toys, she did seem content. I learned that they considered her the source.. how do they figure this? She isn't around other children, except at school, she isn't around other adults that have pink eye. Their explanation makes no sense to me. I walk in to her class and learn there is a little boy, in her class, has older siblings in school, he has it too. He seems more the source to me. But I digress because I am upset, not with her with ths situation.
So 5 days of eye drops 3 times a day and boy let me tell you that is a fun time. Flu vaccine on Wednesday at her well baby, and tubes on Thursday. Someone tell me how this is supposed to make me feel good. I feel horrible all the time for her.

She may learn...
But probably not.
I just got a call from school which started out, "Mrs. Clements, this is Mrs. (can't remember who called), I needed to let you know that first, Juliet is fine, there was an incident in the class that we wanted to tell you about. "
By now, my blood pressure is back to normal, I hate seeing Primrose flash across the screen of my cell.
I can hear you now, what happened?!?!, stop babbling.
Juliet stuck her finger in another kids mouth and the kid bit her and left a scratch on her hand. Of course, she was cuddled and it was washed off, but they have to tell me everything, which I like.
That is something we are going to have to work on at home. She puts her fingers in daddys mouth playing and he doesn't bite her, she doesn't know that doesn't happen in the real world. She is so fascinated with everything, I often wonder... What Next???

Answers - Finally
Miss Juliet Claire will have tubes put in her ears on the 1st of October.
We saw the ENT this morning and he told us #1 - ear drops do nothing but cause build up in her ears and to stop using them. We will try anything to help their pain, but Tylenol is really better. #2 she has fluid built up behind her ear drum that can not drain and keeps causing her to have ear infections.
It was a long wait to get into Texas Children's Hospital so we are having her surgery at the Doctor's Surgical Center. They tell me it is a 15 minute surgery and we will be the first thing she sees when she wakes up. That helps me.
I am just glad we finally have some answers.

Noise Maker
Juliet has learned that if she claps her hands it makes noise. She laughs when she claps.
SOOOO.. she claps her puzzle pieces together, they make a different loud noise.
Her blocks squeak when she hits them together.
She loves banging things together to see what kind of noise they will make. Our poor furniture. We are having to watch her closely so she doesn't bang the puzzle pieces on the TV stand or coffee table.
She also thinks it is great fun to chase Mommy around the kitchen in her jeep. That thing hurts when she bangs into your ankles or runs over your toes. She thinks it is a game that I move out of her way, it is truly just self preservation.
We go to the ENT on Tuesday. Hopefully we will have a better grasp on what is going on with her ears and throat. Keep her in your prayers, she is such a doll baby and nothing ever seems to slow her down.
All our love to everyone!

Here We Go Again
It started this morning with Juliet throwing up all over Mommy. Great way to start the day. Juliet, she laughed and played in the bath tub after... anyone else see a correlation here? Get sick, play in the bath tub.
So I tell Jon, before 11 they will be calling us with something is wrong or to come get her. My phone rang at 10:59. She apparently got sick at school, no fever they are watching her.
Back to the dr tomorrow for this yucky cough and the mucus buildup. Would have gone today but they close at 1 on Wednesday.
Is Tuesday ever gonna get here?
I feel absolutely helpless. She doesn't deserve all of this.

But I was thirsty Daddy
We always let Juliet play in the tub before bath time. She likes to "catch" the water as it comes out of the faucet. She likes to chew on her bath toys, look at herself in the overflow drain and play with the drain. Well tonight she decided she wanted to play with her cup that we rinse her hair with. No biggie, this has become interesting to her over the last couple of days. So Jon gives it to her. She puts water in it and tries to get a drink from the cup and realized she can't reach the water. So instead of tipping the cup back, she hasn't learned how to use a cup yet and doesn't seem to want to try, she puts the cup back in the water to add more then is able to drink from the full cup. This is no tiny cup, it is a 22oz plastic cup. I am thinking this is pretty smart on her part, but really wish she would attempt to learn to drink from a cup. She doesn't hold a bottle and wont tip the cup back to get the liquid. Sigh...
BTW we have an appointment with the ENT on the 22nd.

You Could Make It, But You Won't
Is no longer true.
The title to this was found on a sign outside a booth in Canton.
For months now I have been meaning to duplicate a paci holder that Lynn (Meme) gave me as a baby shower gift. Well tonight I did it and am pretty proud of the results.
Check it out! The holder on the left is the gift. The one on the right is the one I made tonight!

Please use my name
We learned at the dr's office today that Juliet should be responding to her name, which she is not doing. I am sure that us calling her Sweetie, Lovebug, Princess, Baby and all that is what she is used to hearing. So Daddy and I are trying to say Juliet every time we want her attention. Usually it is Juliet followed by a clap so she knows we are talking to her. Otherwise she does the child thing and ignores us completely. I know she hears us, she is just too busy with other things to bother with us. We have an independent one on our hands.

Cute New Shoes
They are pink, does that surprise you?
Juliet is entering the phase of toddler very quickly. She grabs on to everything and pulls herself to standing then before you know it she is on the opposite end of what she is holding on to. According to the rules at school, once they start walking they have to wear shoes and socks. So instead of trying to enforce this all at once we thought it would be better for her to gradually get used to wearing shoes.
Mama, Juliet and I started out at Dillards where the lady told us this is what we have in her size. Well what they had were little stiff Keds that Juliet cried the whole time she had on her feet. So I got frustrated at the service and we left and went to the Stride Rite store where the whole atmosphere was different.
We were met at the door, her foot was measured and we were told that we could choose from. They make their shoes where they conform to the foot and it is like walking barefoot. Did you know a child flexes their foot close to 25,000 times a day??? So we got her this pink pair of tennies and she never said a word. She looked at them alot, but never cried or tried to pull them off. She did try to put them in her mouth though, go figure! So now she has shoes and we are breaking them in.
Last night we went to the Dawson's for a Labor Day celebration, it was nice to be around other adults. We also got to go see Wilson's new house, it is very nice. By that time Juliet was so tired, she let everyone know it.
Hopefully today will be relaxing.

Poor Baby
First of all a bit of good news, Juliet stood by herself for five seconds last night! She stood herself up and stood there.
Juliet is 19.2 lbs and 29 inches long.
We went to the doctor this morning and Juliet has another double ear infection. This makes number three. We have to do another round of antibiotics and ear drops... FUN! After her ears heal, we are going to have to see an ENT. She is such the trooper and stays happy through it all.
She is at home with Daddy this afternoon after throwing up at school yesterday. This is usually our sign that her ears are infected again.
We ask for your prayers for our little angel. She is such a great baby and it breaks my heart that she is sick so much, but does not complain.

Dinner with Meme and Popa
Last night we met Meme and Popa in Humble for dinner. A little side story to this, Meme and I had discussed dinner plans but never actually said which Pappa's we were going to. Well, they ended up in Jacinto City and Juliet and I were in Humble.... Should have discussed that minor point. O-Well we ended up working it out and had a really good time. Juliet was such a ham and entertained everyone. Her newest favorite game is I throw something on the floor and will lean over the highchair and stare at it until you pick it up for me. She has her Popa's number. She threw it on his side and not mine because she knows I put the toys back in the bag. He gives them back. She so loves her Meme and gave plenty of raspberry kisses and laughs to her.
It was a nice dinner, hopefully it wont be so long between visits.

Juliet is winning
As I read about all these kids who go to bed on their own, without their pacis, in their own beds, I reflect to last night.
I had given Juliet her cereal and she was well on her way to being asleep so I thought I would go lay her in her crib so she would put herself to sleep the rest of the way. Well that went over like a lead balloon. The second her head hit the sheet, she screamed and screamed. I waited thinking she would settle down, but NO... she started coughing. So I go pick her up and we go lay in our bed.
By this time I notice she is so stuffy she can't breathe so we give her a little benedryl so she will not be congested and be able to sleep. Well that made her so mad she threw up on Jon. So now it is time for bath number two. We finally get her settled back down and put her to bed.
I know that at some time she will have to go to bed on her own, but is it so wrong that I like that she wants to be with us? That she likes it when Mommy rocks her to sleep? That she likes to snuggle next to Daddy to go to sleep? What is the harm? She sleeps in her own bed at night, not with us.
Sigh........

Standing and Bye-Bye
I know, I know, my titles are a bit strange.
For the last 2 days Juliet has been letting go of us and standing on her own for about a second or two. She lets go.. stands there.. claps her hands then drops to her bottom. Then looks at you like, "Why didn't you catch me?" She has done it for Daddy and Mommy now so we have both gotten to see it.
As for Bye-Bye, she makes all sorts of sounds that may be words, but aren't really. Like Mama and Dada and baba. But she says them out of context so they aren't really what she means. Late yesterday, my little parrot heard me say bye-bye and I heard her try to repeat it. I worked with her last night and this morning, but she didn't want to play with me. Too many new things. O-well, such is life!
What a Babydoll
Was exactly what the teachers at Primrose said about Juliet this morning.
She was wonderful and did not have any problems with being in a strange classroom... as long as I was sitting on the floor with her playing. When I got up to leave, she freaked. It's ok though, the teacher picked her up and they went to look outside to distract her. It wasn't as hard on me as I thought it would be. It helps that she is such a social butterfly and doesn't have that MUCH stranger anxiety.
We made the first attempt with shoes last night, Tigger houseshoes, which she promptly pulled off, so this should be a fun thing to get used to.

Slight Setback
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAMES!!!
Juliet was supposed to start school at Primrose on Monday but due to a viral infection it looks like Wednesday is going to be her first day. That gives me time to have her name put on her school bag. It is a black diaper bag with Primrose School on it. They only want you to use the bags they provide. There is nothing in the rules that say you can't alter it.
Juliet is at home enjoying Mama before she and Papa leave on vacation to Natchitoches LA. Just looked up the B&B they are staying at NICE!!!
Jon and I are trying to get back in the swing of things. It has been rough, especially since we got about 2 hours of sleep Sunday night. Juliet slept better last night so we did get some rest.
Hope everyone is well.

Branson Trip - Day 5
The trip home was not as pleasant as the trip there. It seemed as if the kids, all three of them, had lost their minds. They did not want to ride in the car and made their displeasure known.
We finally made it home safe and sound after 9 hours in the car. It was a fun vacation, but time to get back to the real world. Juliet starts her new daycare on Monday. Pray for us.
Branson Trip - Day 4
We started out our last full day in Branson with the girls minus Juliet going to get Manis and Pedis. It was relaxing, so not worth the price, but relaxing none the less.
It poured down rain all night and most of the morning, but we did not let that stop us. We went into Branson and did the old timey photos, which are posted at www.flickr.com.lauraclements. We had so much fun!
We took the kids swimming again, Juliet acts like she is in the pool everyday, has no fear and even dunks her own head. Sullivan and Madison love being in the pool.
Went back to the cabin and cooked burgers then everyone but Juliet and me went to watch Cowboy Clay, the singing cowboy from the carriage ride and apparently he let Sullivan come up on stage and sing with him.
What a way to end the vacation.

Branson Trip - Day 3
After finally figuring out that Juliet was waking up at night because she was cold, I have switched her to a different blanket and she is sleeping better.
We started out the morning with the guys off to play golf and Madison and Sullivan off to fish in a kid tournament. They didn't catch anything, but hopefully had a little fun. Me, I got to bait hooks and cast lines.
Then while Madison and Sullivan went to ride pony's, Juliet and I took a nap, she was such a happy camper after an hour and a half nap.
We went to the park to let the kids play and realized that this resort has no swings. What kind of place caters to families and doesn't have swings?
By this time Jon and Darrell were back, we ate lunch, played Ticket to Ride then the Clements Sr. family went on a wagon ride while the Jr. family went into Branson to Wally World.
Came home ate dinner then off to bed.
Love to all!
Juliet Claps Her Hands
For the past few weeks / months Juliet had been clapping her hands with one hand open and one hand closed into a fist. Well this week, she has started opening both hands and clapping. She is so proud of herself. It is another one of her copycat things she does.

Branson Trip - Day 2
We started out day 2 on the Branson Scenic Railway. This is an actual train that takes you on a 40 mile round trip through the Ozark mountains. http://www.bransontrain.com/ . Mr. Sullivan is a train nut. We sat in a dome car that sat you high above the ground and were able to see all the scenery as it went by. Juliet started out with her face pressed up against the glass. We were glad she was such a trooper.
We had lunch at Famous Dave's BBQ. You can tell we are getting above the Mason/Dixon Line because no matter what they say, that wasn't BBQ.
We are still fighting Miss Juliet's ears. Sigh
We went swimming in the heated pool last night. I blew up Juliet's float and off she went like she had been in water every day of her life. She was such a trooper and even dunked her own head. Madison and Sullivan are little fishes. They love the water.
We came back to the cabin for steaks and fries and an early night for the kids.
Fishing in the morning!
Love to all

Branson Trip - Day 1
We started out for Branson this morning at 9:45 from Frisco. This is awesome considering there were 4 adults and 3 kids that we were running only 45 minutes behind.
After 4-5 false starts we were off!
Juliet was such a trooper, she only wanted to stop when she wanted a diaper change. Around hour 7 she was really cranky though. Who could blame her, 8 hours in a car will make anyone cranky.
Our first stop was the A&W / KFC in Oklahoma. Juliet's 1st state other than TX.
Then we had to stop in Arkansas for snacks. Juliet's 2nd state. The roads in Arkansas are narrow and windy and we got caught in a huge rain storm.
Then it was on to Missouri to The Big Cedar Lodge. It is a beautiful resort in the Ozarks. Juliet's 3rd state.
We are settling in for the night, Juliet is fed and everyone is deciding on dinner. It has been a long day for everyone. Tomorrow we are going in to Branson to ride a train and sight see!

ROTFL
Rolling on the floor laughing!
Last night Jon took feed Juliet duty while I cooked dinner. Well needless to say she was covered in sweet potatoes and turkey by the time they were done. She has this wonderful habit of turning her head about the time you try to put food in her mouth, well some slid off the spoon onto her tummy and diaper. So what does she do, smears it all over her tummy and rubs it into the diaper. Of course Jon's expressions was "gross child." She laughed over it and Mommy got a good laugh too. Then during clean up Dada goes to wash her hand and she steals the paper towel. We have one smart cookie on our hands!
We are slowly getting ready for vacation. Juliet's new luggage came in, thanks Mama and Papa! Check out flickr for pictures of her with it!
Who knew packing was such a chore.

Poor Baby J
So we have gone from a double ear infection to adding a nasty wet cough and runny nose. Poor precious baby. She hates having her nose wiped and with her sneezing and drooling we are wiping her face all the time. Her little eyes are so heavy but she still smiles and talks to us, she also used Mommy as a jungle gym all day. You can tell she feels bad, but it doesn't slow her down. We did get food and milk in her today and have 4 doses of medicine down. We will access the situation in the morning to see if she will go to school or not tomorrow.
Check out the pictures of her with her new backpack and playing with the vaccum.
Love to all! Laura Jon and Juliet

Not one but both
Ears have really bad infections!
We had to meet Mama and Papa in Crosby at 6 this morning and ended up at the doctors office at 8:30 because she couldn't keep anything down. Apparently when you have a bad earache, the pressure can make you sick. So now we have ear drops and nasty chalky medicine. Well grape chalky medicine. We are taking it easy this weekend and she already seems to be doing better.

Copycat
Juliet started this precious thing where she opens and closes her mouth like she is talking but nothing is coming out. It makes a little popping sound when she does it. Video to be uploaded later. Well, we can do it and she will start doing it with us. It is precious. Also this morning she started her "cough" thing again, so I coughed, and what did she do, she copied me every time I did it.
Sigh, our little girl is growing up and becoming SILLY!

Big Decisions Today
As I sit here listening to Juliet do anything but go to sleep at 9:30, aka scream. I roll my eyes at the parenting articles. "Put your child down awake, it helps them sleep longer and learn to put themselves to sleep." Yeah RIGHT! Mine hates being awake and alone. I can hear my mother now, "Go pick that baby up and rock her." I am about ready to, although apparently turning her over and giving her a paci and frog seemed to help, although her paci was in her hand and she was on all fours with her eyes closed crying... Go figure!
Today we decided that we are going to take Juliet out of the Kids R Kids daycare and put her in the Primrose School in Fallcreek. As you know we have been having some issues with the staff at KRK, starting with the bleeding diaper rash incident to not paying attention to her foods and giving her the same foods all day. Primrose was our first choice, but with a year waiting list, we were forced to make an alternative choice and were very pleased with the Infant room at KRK, just have not had the best of luck in the next level.
So, after we return from Branson, Juliet will start at Primrose which is a pre-school, not a daycare with structured learning and teaching.
We can't wait for vacation!
Love to all! Laura, Jon and Juliet Claire

Bubble Bath
While in Target last week picking up a set of blocks for Mama's house, I picked up Juliet some bubble bath. We tried it tonight and did not get the reaction we were expecting. She usually loves to sit in the water and play with the water coming out of the faucet. Tonight was different. When we tried to sit her in the water she screamed. Did not know what to do with the bubbles and did not want to sit in them.
Once she did get sitting she was more interested in trying to pick the bubbles off her hands than play in the water. Our go forward with no fear child, did not like change in her bath water. We did get some cute pictures of her sitting in the bubbles.

The Weekend
Happy Birthday Aunt Rhonda!
Happy 1st Birthday Becket Wild!
We had an awesome weekend. While the munchkin ran the grandparents ragged in Liberty, Dada and I along with Mrs. Jessica and Mr. John went to Shakespeare in the Park at Miller Outdoor Theater and saw Twelfth Night. It was alot of fun.
Saturday I went and picked up pictures from the Woodlands and ran into the Bammel's. I have not seen Julia in a long time and it was wonderful to see friends. I just wish I would have had Juliet so she could have met her, but that just makes it a reason to get together again. I picked Juliet up a hoodie beach towel and me a swim suit and a new skirt and shirt.
I picked up Juliet just in time to go to Becket's first birthday party. We had so much fun at the party. Mrs. Shannon did a wonderful job on the party.
Sunday we went shopping for picture frames and sheets, we scored on the frames but not the sheets. In case you are interested, Macy's in Humble is back open and really nice inside, but not like you remember it. Everything is moved around.
Juliet fought us going to sleep tonight. We are all exhausted now.
I did get ahold of Amanda Key, www.amandakey.com, and got Juliet a spot for Santa pics, I know August, at Adair and Co. I think Juliet will do better if she is not surrounded by screaming kids for pics.

A Note from Mama about Juliet at School
About 1 I watched her crawl to the circle thingy and climb over the edge and in to it, then sit up..then she crawled around inside trying to get her leg over to get out, each time a baby in a crib set up or crawled close she would go to them, as discussing the best out of her situation, or wait a minute and I will help you out of that crib..it is so easy..just as soon as I figure a way over this silly wall!
YUCK
Juliet started vitamins with fluoride for her toofers last night. Boy does that stuff stink and apparently tastes really bad by the look on her face. Of course it is a once a day thing until she can chew the princess vitamins, so FUN. Of course she fights us the entire time!

Big Day of FIRSTS
Today was full of first for Miss Juliet.
We had family pictures scheduled in the Woodlands at 1 today. We arrived at 11:30 and wondered what we were going to do for an hour and a half until picture time.
That was easily solved as Mommy noticed Juliet watching the carousel intently. For only a $1 you can ride for a pretty long time. Juliet rode a giraffe and bounced and giggled the whole time. She loved every minute of it.
Next it was time for pictures and the stinker wanted to cling to Mommy so we only got about 4 good ones.
We came home and got on the Skype with Grandma and Granddaddy (Lynn and Denny) and talked to them a while.
Juliet was scooting around the room playing with her baseball when I noticed her moving toward her learning table. She got up on her knees and was playing with it and all the sudden I noticed her starting to stand up. She stood up BY HERSELF for the first time tonight and was very intent to stand there and play with her toy until Mommy decided it was time to sit down. Hasn't figured out that one.
We went to dinner with Mama and Papa and Juliet got to see fish in the tank for the first time.
Lots of new things today.

Lots of Updates
Juliet went to the doctor today she is 18.6 lbs and 29 inches long. She is around the 75-80% in weight and off the chart in height. She had to have 3 shots and an oral vaccine and we are already creeping toward the 100 degree temperature. Mommy is working from home tomorrow because we expect a fever.
Juliet started sitting up on her own today. She has been trying for a while now and while Mama and I were watching her on the video she did it and when we got home she did it for daddy.
Jon just bought mine and Juliet's tickets to Hawaii (Maui) in January, he already had his because of something to do with miles. We will leave on January 25 and come back on February 8. We are going with Lynn and Denny so we will have help with Miss Priss.
We are so excited for Auntie Jessie and Uncle Derek as they are buying a new house. We got to walk through their floor plan on Sunday. They are close enough that we can see them often.
We are doing family pictures on Saturday. Still lost on what Juliet will wear. What I have is either wrong color or way too big. Sigh!!
Friends are Special
Juliet has a friend Emma in her class at school. They have been going to the daycare together since it opened. Emma was moved to the next class 3 weeks before Juliet and I could tell that Juliet missed having her friend to play with. Well now that they are back together, I can see a difference in both babies. This morning when I sat on the floor to tell Juliet bye and give her kisses, Emma crawled in my lap and tilted her head for a kiss too. Of course she got one!

Bye Bye Baby Bath Tub
Juliet has gotten to where she tries to pull herself out of the baby bath tub so I decided it was time to just put water in the tub and let her play. Let me tell you she enjoys herself. She splashes and smiles. We have also put 2 rubber ducks in the tub that she loves. I have to be careful though, she tries to crawl in the tub. I don't think she will like it much when she goes face first into the water!

Sweet 100
I am so proud of our little Juliet Claire. She visited the next class today and did so good. She is ahead a little because she can already move around so well. She is giving the Infant Sweet ladies a run for their money. They aren't used to a kid who is in to everything, and Juliet is that, into everything she can get her hands on.

No No
Juliet will sit in her highchair and shake her head no at me. When I stop giving her food she screams. Hasn't figured out what the head shake means but laughs uncontrollably when I shake my head no at her.

Chicken and Apples
Juliet had Chicken and Apple Dinner and Banana Yogurt for dinner tonight. It was out first experience with meats. Chicken and Apple tastes like apples in case you are wondering. She loved it. She does not like the little Gerber puffs though. I gave her one and she scrunched up her face and gave it back to me. Little stinker. I think once she figures out they are a treat she will like them.

She's a crawler
As of today she is crawling! She is getting where she wants to go in more of an army guy crawl instead of on her hands and knees, but it doesn't stop her. We were getting ready for work and school and put her on the floor to see what she would do. Not much. Then I put a coat hanger in front of her and she made a bee line for it. We were so excited and tried to get her to do it for the video camera. No such luck. She does what she always does and refuses to perform for the camera. More soon!

Astros Game
Today we went to the Astros game. It was an appreciation from the Safety and Wellness committee and we had some extra tickets so I asked if Jon could come and bring Juliet. Of course it was a great idea since we were in the Coke Corner and no balls were going to make it out there. She had so much fun. She got to meet Junction Jack, watch baseball, and meet some of Mommy's co-workers.
I bought here a little I Love Astros shirt and she looked so cute in it, even though it was purple and her shorts were pink stripes. She even made it to the 7th inning stretch before she passed out.

Happy 4th of July
Boy has it been a whirl wind of a last couple of weeks. Juliet has not one but two teeth now (6/28 and 7/1)and working on the third one. We aren't lucky enough to have them all come in at once. She also gets so mad that she is not mobile enough to get what and where she wants. She is getting there. Give her a couple of weeks and we will have to look closely at child proofing. We spent the 4th with some friends and counting Juliet there were 7 kids in one house. Juliet made a new friend, her name is Lily and she is the Pennington's dog. Lily is wonderful, Juliet grabbed both ears and pulled and Lily just sat there while Juliet laughed.
Congratulations to Jon on his promotion! We celebrated by having Sushi. Juliet is getting so good at eating out that we were able to have a nice family celebration.
We continue to ask you to pray for the Pickett family as they start back to work and life.

We have our first tooth and Happy Birthday Daddy
Happy Birthday Jon! We love you Daddy!
On our way home today I saw her first tooth! It is so precious! Juliet spent 4 days in Liberty with Mama and Papa while Mommy needed to be there for Aunt Kimby and then Mommy had a wedding to shoot. We continue to ask for your prayers for the Pickett and Joiner families in this unbelievably rough time.
Thank you so much Uncle Derek for keeping Juliet while we attended the funeral. It was so nice to know that she did not have to be out in 100 degree heat.

6 months old
Happy Half Birthday Miss Juliet Claire, she is 6 months old today.
Mommy had some sniffles this morning when I realized my baby is six months old. It just doesn't seem possible that it has already been that long. Where has the time gone. So much has happened and she is growing so fast. You can't leave her alone anywhere or she will roll over or try to crawl away. She is a pro at sitting up and the helicopter to get where she wants to go. It is funny to hear her when she is mad because it sounds like she is saying "Mama Help". Granddad even noticed it this weekend and asked if she just said help. I found her a new sippy that she likes. She likes the Avent sippy because she can chew on it better. Speaking of chewing, she bit me tonight with that tooth that is breaking through. You can't see it yet, but you can feel it, especially when she gnaws on your chin. We have started sitting up in the bathtub splashing the water after her bath. Mommy gets soaked, but Juliet has a blast. So much in so little time.

We hate shots
Juliet is 16 lbs 14 ozs and 28 inches long. She had to have her last Hep B shot this time. I took her by myself. That was a mistake, I think i cried harder than she did. I read in Parents magazine about a numbing cream that I am going to ask for next time. I hate to see her suffer. I know, I know, don't say it.

Sitting by herself
Happy Father's Day, if I don't get to post later this week, I want that there!
You know me, I always put prayer requests on this page. Please pray for little Ben, his family, and the Doctors and Nurses at Memorial Herman Children's hospital. It's hard enough when an adult is sick, but it is almost impossible when it is a baby. I took off Friday and spent most of the day at the hospital with Kimberly and Russell. It was hard for me to watch them have to go through this.
Juliet is now sitting by herself. She had been trying for a while and now has the balance thing down. If you can believe it on the 23rd she will be 6 months old. My baby is growing too fast for me.

All sorts of fun
How is it June already?
Congratulations to Russel and Kimberly Pickett on the birth of their son Benjamin Lawrence. He was born June 5, 2009.
Congratulations to Nathan and Nicole Lino on the birth of their daughter Chole Reese. She was born June 5, 2009. This is Uncle Derek and Aunt Jessie's 6th niece and nephew, three have been born in the last 6 months!!.
After 10 days of forcing Amoxicillin down Juliet's throat for an icky nose, Juliet has to go back to the doctor on Monday because she is still stuffed up. This is not good for breathing or sleeping.
We had pictures taken of Miss J in her baptism dress and her swimmy. She is such a ham, I love it. She was tired but smiled so big for the camera. I bought her a kiddy pool that we are going to try tomorrow if it is beautiful like it has been. Look for vidoes later for this experiment.

5 months old
Juliet is 5 months old, Mommy is sad. I want her to stay a baby a little longer. Sometime during the last update and today, Juliet started holding her bottle during her night feeding, if she wakes up hungry. She will tell you I am making it up but it has happened a few times now.
If you have never heard the sound a stuffed up baby makes through a baby monitor, be glad, it sounds so sad. Juliet has a cold with a stuffy nose and a wet cough. She is back on her favorite pink medicine that mommy has to shove down her throat. We have also elevated her mattress and I sometime wonder if she thinks it's a toy because she moves around alot now that it is up some.
Juliet was such a little fairy princess for her baptism. She was so good and only a little fussy after he poured the water on her head. She proved to be a little angel and got to see her family too, there ended up being 16 family members there, not including the 3 of us. Thank you everyone for braving the storm, it meant alot to us that you were there. We had an awesome lunch after that Mama and Papa treated us to.
Jon's family stayed with us for the weekend so they could attend the baptism. I wanted everything to be perfect and right off the bat Juliet gets sick and wants to be a clingy baby. She was so miserable but got to spend some quality time with the grandparents and great-grandparents.

Long Overdue
HAPPY BIRTHDAY VICTORIA! May 22
Juliet is 15.9 lbs and is 26 1/4 inches long
So much has happened in the last month it is hard to know where to begin.
Nana had a very successful heart surgery, we know that God is watching over our family closely this year.
Juliet is such the little person now. She has learned to roll from her back to her belly and claps her hands. There is no laying on her back anymore, she whines then rolls over to her tummy and sticks that head straight up. Video to be uploaded soon. We are going through the teething nightmare and I feel like such a terrible mommy because there is nothing I can do for her. We have the Raz Berry teether, the Sophie Giraffe teether, pacis, toys and what does she teeth on??? The flowers that sing to her... go figure. They are pretty gross when she gets done with them. I think I am going to have to take them back and forth to daycare with us because they seem to have one toy that makes noise and she likes the noise.
I had a wonderful First Mother's Day. Jon made it very special for me. We spent the Saturday before Mother's day in Liberty seeing all the family. Then on Sunday we went to church and then to Benihahas where Miss Juliet got to try out her floppy seat. She liked it so much she fell asleep. Mommy really enjoyed lunch.
Juliet had to get 4 shots and 1 oral vaccine on her last visit to the Dr. Mommy knows better but I sent her to school the next day and got a call about 10 that said she was running a 100.9 fever and I needed to come get her. We spent the whole day in mommy's arms. She was so pitiful.
Laura and Jon celebrated their 4th wedding anniversary on the 14th. Too bad we both forgot!! We had a really great mother's day lunch so that could be our anniversary lunch too. Not gonna fly next year though, he has promised me Hawaii and family pictures on the beach.
We helped John and Jessica (Ridley) Daigle celebrate their marriage this past weekend. They have an awesome connection and will have a wonderful life. Jessica is a special friend, I have known her for 12 years and know she is one of the kindest people. I have never seen her as beautiful as she was on Saturday. We love you both, Thank you for allowing us to share in your day, seeing as we did introduce you! BTW that was in the back of their wedding program, here I am sitting in the front of the church almost in tears reading that. And since Amanda Key was the photographer and I know her, she let me shoot some of her setups so I got to spend some quality time with the camera.
This weekend is Juliet's baptism, this is going to go one of a couple of ways, she is going to be fine, she is going to scream, she is going to sleep, or she is going to try to stick the guys hand in her mouth and chew on it. Any takers? She is going to look like a pink fairy princess, I know white is customary, but this is me, you know me.
Love to all, see everyone on Sunday... all 20 of us...

April Update
As I sit here listening to it rain, yet AGAIN, I realized it had been almost a month since I had posted anything. I know, I know, bad Laura. It has been a busy month.
So much has happened in the last 20 days I don't know where to start. Juliet hosted her first bridal shower on the 18th and it was a huge success, well except that it rained so much the guests were flooded into the neighborhood. We had fun though. Something new is that she will lay on her tummy and scoot all the way around her play mat. She wants so bad to be mobile, but it is not happening fast enough for her. So she gets mad and rolls over. She reached her little arms out to hug me on Thursday the 23rd and to give me big, sloppy, open mouth kisses. It was great! Then when we picked her up from school on Friday the 24th I rode in the back with her and I started laughing and so did she, not those little laughs she does, real laughs. It was precious, but by the time I got the camera she puckered up and refused to even smile. It will happen.
We went to Dallas this weekend for Uncle Craig's sister Lauren's wedding. She was a beautiful bride. We ended up leaving at 7 Friday night and since that is Miss Juliet's bedtime she slept the whole way to Frisco. Sunday was not as easy, but we had a first successful road trip. I think she really enjoyed watching the kids play. Sarah helped us by keeping Juliet while we went to the wedding. We would have been miserable if we would have had to deal with her. Especially since it was an evening wedding! Juliet got to play on the swing set in the back yard for the first time. She looked so big sitting in Gramma Sarah's lap with the other kids playing around her.
We are starting to hear M and B sounds, of course they make no sense yet. But she talks to us anyway. Well love to all, I am going to bed early tonight. More as it happens!

Happy Easter and Happy 30th Mommy
Juliet celebrated her first Easter. She was such a sport about it when I put ears on her. She got lady bug shoes, a taggy book, a toy for her car seat, some pacis and of course eggs. She is also hosting a bridal shower for Miss Jessica on Saturday so Mommy and Daddy have to clean house. She is such the little social butterfly.
Mommy celebrated her 30th birthday, she got a new laptop and Daddy surprised her with sushi.

She rolls over!
Juliet rolled to the right from her tummy on Sunday and then to the left from her tummy on Monday. We are so proud of her. She is getting to be such a big girl. We are full on fighting the teething issue. We were awake until 3 am on Friday night. Let me tell you that was fun. The daycare can not give orajel without a doctor note so we will get one tomorrow when we go. We will update you on how the visit goes. Mommy ordered Juliet an exacauser that she loves and a toy mat that she likes to look at herself in the mirror and not much else. Tigger remains the favorite toy. As I type sitting here on the bed Juliet is laying next to me sucking on her fingers with very heavy eyes. I do not expect her to last much longer. It is supposed to be cold here tonight so we are going to put her on her tummy so she keeps her blankie on. More tomorrow after we visit the dr. Check out her videos later. She is too precious! Love to all!

3 months old
Wow, Juliet is 3 months old now and counting, where did the time go? She has developed such a little personality which you can see in the videos. If you haven't watched them at least twice, you are missing out. We started feeding her carrots which she LOVEs, and as you can see wears them from head to toe. Her teeth are bothering her so she is not happy with that.
Juliet went to her first Liberty Jubilee last weekend where she got 2 very cute outfits, sunglasses and a tutu. She looks so cute in her sunglasses. She also got to meet her Aunt Cat for the first time. She slept through the meeting, but Mommy was glad Aunt Cat got to see her. She was staying with Mama and Papa on Thursday and Friday because Mommy and Daddy were sick and we did not want Juliet to be sick. So of course she was the prettiest baby at the Jubilee and everyone had to talk to her. She also got to try her first snowball (coconut flavor) with Mama on Saturday. The little bird liked it. We may go back in this weekend and take pictures in the bluebonnets at the State Farm office with Victoria and see Meme and Popa. We were supposed to see them last weekend, but Mommy was sick and ready to come home. Well, I must start working on the pictures, love to everyone and we will talk again soon. Love you!

Juliet Sick
If you didn't know, Juliet has been sick, she had an ear infection and an upper respiratory infection. We did 10 days of antibiotics. She started her new day care on March 2 and on that Thursday, Daddy had to take her to the doctor and she got to be spoiled by Mama and Papa on Friday. She is such a good girl and didn't complain too much about the medicine. I think it was worse on Mommy having to shove the medicine in her mouth. She seems to be taking well to her new day care and her new teachers. She had Easter pictures taken and I can't wait to see them. Enjoy the pictures, she is growing so fast!!

February Update
February was a very big month for miss Juliet. She is such a happy baby and expresses it now with wide smiles almost laughs. She is very active with her hands and feet and is always moving. We tried her bumbo this past week and she loves it. Juliet is a baby who wants to look around and see everything that is going on around her. For a two month old she is the most alert and active baby I have ever seen. She started day care on the 16th and seems to have done very well with it. She is more fussy in the evenings when we pick her up but I have been told that means she misses us and is glad we are there. I know that mommy and daddy miss her very much during the day. Mommy is having a really hard time leaving her still. This Monday the new day care opens, we went Saturday and met her new teacher and she seems like she will fit in fine here too. She has started the teething process so we have something else to wonder "Is this the issue" now. She is definitely a little person now with a huge personality and lots of energy with a temper to match. We are so blessed. Lota of Love

Juliet Starts School
Juliet starts school tomorrow. Mommy and Daddy will drop her off in the morning. I am sure she will be just fine as she is a people person, although I hope she misses us some!
This past week she has become very expressive and animated. Some of her facial expressions are priceless. She smiles alot and "talks to you" when she is happy, when she is upset she scrunches up her face and pokes out that bottom lip.
Mommy and Juliet went into Liberty this past weekend and visited Mama and Papa and then went out to Meme and Popa's house and visited with Aunt Angie and her cousin Drew. Well, Mommy visited and Juliet slept on everyone!
Well, Daddy just woke up the princess and she will be ready to eat! See you next week!!

Juliet Update
Juliet is almost 7 weeks old!!
She looks toward us when we talk to her and follows us when we walk around her. She has also found the bears on her swing and stares at them.
Juliet weighed 10 lbs and 10 oz at the last doctor's appointment, moving her to the 90% the body weight. She's holding strong in the 75% category for heigth 21 3/4 inches and head size. She received a few vaccinations and love getting them both! Ok, maybe not so much. She goes back in a few weeks for yet more vaccinations.
Juliet is now cleared to eat rice cereal at night and oatmeal during the day. This is to promote weight gain and help her sleep through the night. Last night we slept 4 hours, had a bottle and then slept another 3 hours. She's also started a mild medicine to help her with some reflux issues and so far this seems to be helping some.
